On board
There is no set dress code on board the EUROPA 2 during the day. In the evening, however, gentlemen visiting the restaurants on Deck 4 and the Sushi Restaurant Sakura should wear smart casual attire – namely, a long-sleeved shirt, a jacket or a summer suit; short trousers and T-shirts of any kind are not permitted. A tie is not required. In the Yacht Club Restaurant, it is not necessary to wear a jacket in the evening.

Ashore
For excursions or private trips ashore, clothing should be particularly comfortable and practical as well as suited to the route you will travel. Sturdy footwear is recommended and flat shoes are indispensable when on board the ship and ashore. For Zodiac excursions, especially in colder regions, we recommend that you wear waterproof clothing to keep you dry.

The private use of drones is not permitted on board our cruise ships. This applies during the cruise and during lay times in port, as well as at landing points in remote regions. In polar regions, Hapag-Lloyd Cruises places great value on respecting international agreements to protect sensitive natural environments and the animal kingdom in particular. In other regions of the world, approval for the use of drones ashore must be made by the passengers individually and without any intervention by Hapag-Lloyd Cruises. As well as a drone licence, which users must acquire in their country of origin, the relevant approval must be available for presentation at all times. Please take these instructions seriously, since passengers who are in breach of these regulations and licensing requirements will be liable to prosecution.

Cruises on the EUROPA 2 offer very limited suitability for guests with reduced mobility. Please note that a large number of our planned Zodiac landings and shore activities require a high level of physical fitness; depending on the conditions, we can only guarantee participation for guests with no mobility restrictions. The EUROPA 2 offers two suites (suites 811 and 813) with fully accessible layout and equipment. We nevertheless highly recommend that you travel together with a responsible companion because, due to special procedures on board a ship, continuous assistance is not possible. Certain groups of people can only be accommodated if they are accompanied. Please bring your own standard-size wheelchair or any other medical equipment with you if you are dependent upon it. Unfortunately, electric wheelchairs and guide dogs cannot be brought on board. Please note that participating in shore activities and going out in the Zodiacs (subject to weather conditions) may not be possible for guests with physical limitations. We reserve the right to restrict participation in group activities to guests who can manage the entire activity without problems and without external assistance. Unfortunately, guests who are dependent on a wheelchair cannot travel in the Zodiacs. Whether or not guests can go ashore by tender boat (when the ship is at anchor) is also dependent on the weather and cannot always be guaranteed. To ensure that you experience a relaxing cruise where everything goes smoothly, before booking please provide us with details of your physical impairment and enquire as to whether we can meet your individual needs.

Are you spending your honeymoon or a milestone wedding anniversary on the EUROPA? The health and safety of guests and crew members is always the highest priority for Hapag-Lloyd Cruises. Appropriate safety, prevention and hygiene measures are therefore a matter of course on board all Hapag-Lloyd Cruises ships. Qualified medical personnel are present on every cruise. The very well-equipped ship's hospital has a laboratory that can also be used to detect viral diseases. The high OPP Level 3 hygiene status automatically applies in the event of an infection. This includes even more intensive cleaning and disinfection of frequently touched surfaces.

Via the guest portal, you have a direct Internet access. In addition, the whole ship is equipped with Wi-Fi hotspots via which you can access the Internet using a laptop or the tablet available in your suite. Internet use is free of charge for one hour per guest per day.

The EUROPA 2 has a modern, well-equipped ship’s hospital (Deck 3) under the supervision of an experienced ship’s doctor. Guests who are being treated for any medical condition should contact the ship’s doctor directly after embarkation. It is important to bring any medications required on board with you in sufficient quantities in your hand luggage. In the case of an accident caused by Hapag-Lloyd Cruises or its staff members either on board or during a shore activity organised by Hapag-Lloyd Cruises, treatment is provided free of charge. Treatment for seasickness is subject to a charge if you make use of our medical services. We offer thrombosis preven¬tion medication on board if required (subject to a charge). The treatment on the ship is a treatment which is equivalent to a visit to a doctor abroad (flag state Malta). We therefore recommend that you take out private international health insurance. Payment will be through your on-board account. Hapag-Lloyd Cruises cannot accept liability for the reimbursement of the full amount of the treatments from your respective personal health insurance. Upon request, a dialysis doctor will be available to you on selected cruises.

Soft drinks and beer in the mini bars of the suites are included in the cruise price. In the Owner Suites, Grand Penthouse Suites, Penthouse Suites and Grand Ocean Suites, there are also top-quality spirits provided to you free of charge.

Comfortable chairs are provided for every guest - either in a sunny or shaded space and in both pleasantly breezy and wind-protected areas. Naturally, here you will also be waited on hand and foot by our attentive service team. Treat yourself to a delicious drink by the pool! There are adequate numbers of deck chairs available on board and, for this reason, you are kindly requested not to leave towels, books, etc. on sunloungers to reserve them if you are going to be away for some time. You can obtain cushions and blankets from the deck steward.

In most of the ports, it is possible for our Reception to arrange to post your postcards and letters. Your suite account will be debited with the appropriate postage charges.

The low-vibration propulsion system reaches a total output of 15,500 kW.

Rstaurant Weltmeere
The Restaurant Weltmeere is the biggest restaurant on board. It is located at the stern of the ship and is quite striking thanks to its spacious room concept. Design elements subtly accentuate the features of the circular room - a successful balance between openness and cosiness. Here, our head chef takes cuisine to new levels. The culinary range spans from international to vegetarian menus, which are all interpreted in new and surprising ways.

Yacht Club Restaurant
The Yacht Club Restaurant offers an informal setting for all meals. Here you can compile your menu yourself for every meal - exactly to suit your taste. Dishes conjured up and freshly plated by our chefs before your very eyes are a particular speciality - and if you wish, you can also enjoy these delicacies in the open air.

Restaurant Sakura
The Restaurant Sakura inside the Restaurant Yacht Club awaits you with a modern design. Here, the chef of asian cuisine pampers guests with modern interpretations of Japanese cuisine, as well as exquisite sushi dishes. The Restaurant Sakura is open in the evening.

Restaurant Serenissima
The purist, elegant interior of the Restaurant Serenissima reflects the quality of its Italian cuisine: everything superfluous has been pared away and the focus is on enjoyment. The chefs of the Serenissima succeed in enchanting their guests with classical dishes and exciting interpretations of one of the world's most popular cuisines. Delight your senses with Ligurian or Neapolitan delicacies in an emphatically superior ambience.

Restaurant Elements
The atmosphere in the Asian-style Restaurant Elements is inspired by the Eastern way of life - a symbiosis of foreign cultures. Enjoy34 35 great Asian cuisines: traditional dishes prepared according to the principles of five elements cooking, hot, spicy and light or uniquely spiced; in any case, fresh, exotic, wholesome and always served artistically. Lunch in the Restaurant Elements is taken in an open seating arrangement.

Restaurant Tarragon
The Tarragon, with its dark pillars and bench-style seating upholstered in green, is reminiscent of a charming brasserie in Paris. Here, a breath of Francophile savoir-vivre is in the air, and Frenchoriented cuisine - both simple and sophisticated - is served here. Maybe you are in the mood for rabbit cassoulet with carrot and mint? May we recommend a full-bodied Bordeaux to go with it?

Grande Réserve
This is a term used worldwide to describe wines of the highest quality - and on board the EUROPA 2, Grande Réserve is the place where connoisseurs and new wine lovers meet to indulge in their passion for fine wine. In two glass, climatised rooms, you will find a vast selection of exquisite wines from around the world. Small dishes are also served as a subtle accompaniment to the wines. And whether it is just to enjoy a good glass or for a private tasting session for up to twelve people, the Grande Réserve wine bar is the perfect venue in which to enjoy some superb rarities in an exclusive setting (subject to a charge).

Unfortunately, we cannot accept any table reservations on cruises lasting less than seven days. Different rules apply for guests staying in the Owner Suites and Grand Penthouse Suites.

Every suite has a private safe for keeping your valuables. Further valuables can be deposited in the safe at the Reception.

You may, of course, use the hairdryer in your suite.

The internationally prescribed passenger muster drill will be rehearsed, within the first 24 hours of the beginning of your cruise. Participation in the muster drill is mandatory for every passenger.

At the start of your cruise, you will be provided with a ship ID card, which you are requested to carry with your every time you go ashore. In all harbours in which the EUROPA 2 lies at anchor, tendering is used where possible with the ship’s own launches (tenders) or motorised inflatable rubber boats (Zodiacs). Please not that, for safety reasons, the minimum age for travelling in Zodiacs is six years.
