    The highlights of this cruise

Rituals, rhythms and rainforests: a new kaleidoscope of creation awaits you every day on routes that combine rarely visited destinations and South Seas classics. In secluded worlds, as if painted by a master’s hand, small atolls add splashes of colour and reveal exotic life above and below the water. Real dream destinations for explorers that can often only be reached by Zodiac.

So close to paradise: the islands on this cruise are strung together like a row of pearls. One more scenic than the next – this is the promise of the Society Islands. The lagoon of Moorea shimmers blue and green as vibrant flowers bloom ashore. The white beach will invite you to unwind. Bora Bora is famous for its striking Mount Otemanu, which is over 700 m (2,296 ft) high. Marvel at this dream world on a scenic flight*, with a glass-bottom boat* or a Land Rover*. The Cook Islands also fill your South Seas diary with the magic of Rarotonga, which you can experience on a boat trip with snorkelling* in the Muri Lagoon. Aitutaki Atoll only measures around 20 km2 (12 mi.2), making this paradise all the greater. Take a boat ride for bathing, snorkelling and barbecuing at the Blue Lagoon*. In the island state of Samoa, you will discover Stevenson’s Treasure Island on a tour* of Upolu with a visit to the writer’s former home. The few inhabitants of Apolima provide an authentic insight into their traditional lifestyle. Wallis and Futuna beckon with the allure of the unknown when you reach the islands of Futuna and Alofi by Zodiac with your experts. Fiji promises a pure South Seas vibe. On Rabi, the locals fascinate you with dance and music, while you get active on a hike to the waterfalls* on Taveuni. The small harbour town of Levuka on Ovalau is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with pretty colonial-style houses – just as notable as swimming and snorkelling on Leleuvia. On the powder-white beach of Ile des Pins, your gaze wanders over the seemingly endless turquoise-blue sea – hardly a more beautiful final vista to enjoy.

    * The shore activities are not included in the cruise price and are in the planning stage. Subject to change.

    Your ship - HANSEATIC inspiration

    The new expedition class

The naming ceremony of the HANSEATIC inspiration took place in Hamburg on 11 October 2019. Together with its structurally identically sister ships HANSEATIC nature (2019) and HANSEATIC spirit (2021), the small and state-of-the-art expedition ship explores remote destinations and visits the world’s most fascinating natural landscapes on challenging routes.

The new expedition class – which offers space for a maximum of 230 guests (or 199 guests on Antarctic cruises and Spitsbergen circumnavigations) – sets standards in terms of variety, comfort and personal space. This is why our ship has more open deck space than any other expedition ship. Find out more! HANSEATIC inspiration was launched in October 2019.
