    The highlights of this cruise

Spring is almost upon us at home. But in March, the northern Baltic Sea is still icy and snowy, and the days are long. At the same time, there is a good chance of marvelling at the Northern lights. Experience the magic of Swedish and Finnish Lapland with the HANSEATIC nature. Your travel companion: a team of experts with a wealth of knowledge, who provides knowledgeable commentary not only while cruising off the chalk cliffs of Mon. The Stockholm Archipelago puts you in the mood for Scandinavian serenity away from the peak season, which also awaits you in Stockholm. What kind of ice situation will prevail in the northern extension of the Baltic Sea? Only an expedition ship like the HANSEATIC nature, which is suitable for polar regions, can navigate the region during this time – for example, while flexibly cruising in the Bothnian Sea and Bothnian Bay. Experience the tradition and close relationship with nature of the Sami* in snowy Lulea. Sled dogs*, fat bikes* and winter hiking* turn the surroundings into an adventure zone. Not far from the Arctic Circle, Kemi will fuel your sense of thrilling discovery – while snowshoe hiking*, ice fishing* or on a snowmobile safari*. The Arktikum museum in Rovaniemi* paints a picture of life in Lapland. Oulu is also popular among outdoor enthusiasts. On your expedition day in Bothnian Bay and the Bothnian Sea, the Baltic Sea keeps enticing you with ever-changing views. Rauma presents the fine art of bobbin lace and picturesque wooden houses. Here, as in Copenhagen, you almost have the place to yourself in low season. Impressions that come to a relaxed end on the daytime passage through the Kiel Canal.

The itinerary depends on weather and ice conditions. The natural experiences and Northern Lights sightings described are possibilities on this cruise and are not guaranteed.

    * The shore activities are not included in the cruise price and are in the planning stage. Subject to change.

    Your ship - HANSEATIC nature

    The new expedition class

The naming ceremony of the HANSEATIC nature took place in Hamburg on 4 May 2019. Together with its structurally identically sister ships HANSEATIC inspiration (2019) and HANSEATIC spirit (2021), the small and state-of-the-art expedition ship explores remote destinations and visits the world’s most fascinating natural landscapes on challenging routes.

The new expedition class – which offers space for a maximum of 230 guests (or 199 guests on Antarctic cruises and Spitsbergen circumnavigations) – sets standards in terms of variety, comfort and personal space. This is why our ship has more open deck space than any other expedition ship. Find out more!
