    Your ship - HANSEATIC nature

    The new expedition class

The naming ceremony of the HANSEATIC nature took place in Hamburg on 4 May 2019. Together with its structurally identically sister ships HANSEATIC inspiration (2019) and HANSEATIC spirit (2021), the small and state-of-the-art expedition ship explores remote destinations and visits the world’s most fascinating natural landscapes on challenging routes.

The new expedition class – which offers space for a maximum of 230 guests (or 199 guests on Antarctic cruises and Spitsbergen circumnavigations) – sets standards in terms of variety, comfort and personal space. This is why our ship has more open deck space than any other expedition ship. Find out more!

Or you fly to Lake Clark National Park - during a hike with a ranger you can also experience brown bears in their natural environment. Actively enjoy the beautiful landscape on a coastal hike* or a kayak trip*.

    Thursday, 20.07.2023

    Prince William Sound

The HANSEATIC nature will spend two days in Prince William Sound to allow for even more thrilling natural experiences. Spontaneity rather than a fixed itinerary: if there are suddenly sightings of orcas, sea lions or – on land – bears, the captain and crew will heave to for unforgettable encounters.

    Friday, 21.07.2023

Cruising in Tsaa Fjord (Icy Bay) and at the Hubbard Glacier

Cruising on the Tsaa Fjord will reveal some of the most beautiful sides of picture-book Alaska: high alpine peaks, green forests, glaciers and ice. As the HANSEATIC nature nears the active Hubbard Glacier, the small expedition ship is in its element and will make its way through the ice floes towards the edge of the glacier if the conditions are right.

    Saturday, 22.07.2023

    Sunday, 23.07.2023

Cruising in Tracy Arm and Endicott Arm

A spectacular shipping route and a dream come true for passionate explorers lies before you: the Inside Passage. Now is the best time to discover the pristine soul of Alaska – with deep fjords and scattered islands. When you’re not engrossed by the animals, you can marvel at high rock faces and thundering waterfalls in Tracy Arm with an impressive glacier backdrop. The same goes for Endicott Arm where, with luck, you will see whales and sea lions.

Petersburg, from 7.00 to 17.00 hrs
    Cruising through the Wrangell Narrows

Picturesque Petersburg is known as “Little Norway”. Painted flower garlands adorn its houses. The captain and crew will demonstrate their nautical expertise on the challenging passage through the Wrangell Narrows.

    Tuesday, 25.07.2023

Wrangell, from 7.00 to 20.00 hrs

The picturesque city of Wrangell is one of Alaska’s oldest settlements. From here, go bear watching at Anan Creek*: this wild creek is visited by salmon during their spawning migration – and, with luck, by black and brown bears. Go on an excursion through the former gold-digging territory of the Stikine and enjoy an adventure on this large river*.

    Wednesday, 26.07.2023

Ketchikan, from 7.00 to 18.00 hrs

Then, be enchanted by Native American culture in Ketchikan and take another opportunity to go on a bear watching tour*. Saturday, 29.07.2023

Cruising through British Columbia’s Inside Passage/Canada via Alert Bay

The HANSEATIC nature will then take its time to cruise through British Columbia’s Inside Passage with its many islands, wooded mountains and the small Native American settlements along the banks that will slowly glide past. Experience magnificent panoramas, perhaps enhanced by the sight of orcas and bald eagles. The history of the First Nations – Canada’s indigenous peoples – will also be a focus: Alert Bay, the territory of the Namgis, is home to a huge totem pole. A formidable sight – like the many other chapters you will write on this adventure story of a cruise.
