    The highlights of this cruise

It is hardly possible to isolate a single crowning moment among the many highlights of this expedition. Wherever the Zodiacs take you, you’ll discover paradise on earth. In the remote island state of Tuvalu, explore the small “capital” Funafuti. A welcome ceremony with dance greets you on Butaritari, one of the Gilbert Islands. The scattered atolls and over 1,000 islands of the Marshall Islands are still undiscovered by tourists today – Mili Atoll, for instance, home to sea turtles and coconut crabs. Get to know Majuro Atoll on a tour* or while swimming and snorkelling*. With a lagoon of almost 700 km² (270 mi.2), the Jaluit Atoll gives a sense of total isolation. Many of the Caroline Islands cannot even be found on a map. But your experts know a thing or two about the colonial era there, the turmoil of the world wars and the flora and fauna. Jungle, mangroves and a volcano more than 600 m (1,968 ft) high dominate Kosrae. Alongside rainforest and rivers, the ancient ruined city of Nan Madol* on Pohnpei, which is built on more than 90 islands, is intriguing. Ulul hardly knows any foreign visitors, just like Lamotrek with its hospitable inhabitants. Yap is equally remote. On a scenic tour*, marvel at the round stone money or enjoy a kayak tour* among the mangroves. Above and below the water, you will experience the Ngulu Atoll as a paradise. Palau is unbelievable: tiny islands emerge from the sea like mushrooms covered in plant life. Whether on a boat trip* through the “floating gardens” of the Rock Islands or on a scenic flight* – the many facets of your cruise will together form a wealth of memories.

    * The shore activities are not included in the cruise price and are in the planning stage. Subject to change.

    Your ship - HANSEATIC inspiration

    The new expedition class

The naming ceremony of the HANSEATIC inspiration took place in Hamburg on 11 October 2019. Together with its structurally identically sister ships HANSEATIC nature (2019) and HANSEATIC spirit (2021), the small and state-of-the-art expedition ship explores remote destinations and visits the world’s most fascinating natural landscapes on challenging routes.

The new expedition class – which offers space for a maximum of 230 guests (or 199 guests on Antarctic cruises and Spitsbergen circumnavigations) – sets standards in terms of variety, comfort and personal space. This is why our ship has more open deck space than any other expedition ship. Find out more! HANSEATIC inspiration was launched in October 2019.
