Sun 14.04.2024 Los Angeles (California), USA – Pelican Hill Golf Club
In a neighbourhood not far from the city in the south of LA you’ll find this 36-hole parkland course. Some of the challenging fairways have direct views of the coastline. Elsewhere, the American layout excels with the surrounding lush vegetation and continuous interruptions of bunkers. There are two courses to conquer with the right golfing tactics – the Ocean North and the Ocean South.
Mon 15.04.2024 San Diego (California), USA – Singing Hills Golf Resort – Additional course
The resort in the east of San Diego offers three nine-hole courses, divided into the River, Lake and Valley courses, which can each be paired up for an 18-hole combination. They are all designed in the parkland style with wooded areas neatly accompanying fairways that become rather broad in places. The names of the three sections indicate the conditions of play on each. As is usual in California, the course is in outstanding condition.
Thu 18.04.2024 Cabo San Lucas, Mexico – Cabo San Lucas Country Club
The fairways of this championship course weave their way through the area’s dune sand. The rather straight fairways unfurl with a manicured carpet of Bermuda grass that leads to moderately sized, quite slow greens. A total of 80 bunkers, which are also surrounded by dune sand, provide a challenge. This alone makes a round here something very special, so players won’t be perturbed by tackling hole 16 – the longest in Mexico – a par 5 at a length of 558 m (610 yd).
Sat 20.04.2024 Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – Vista Vallarta Club de Golf
Players who found the last round particularly challenging will get a sense of deja vu on this course. The two 18-hole courses were also designed by the great Jack Nicklaus and Tom Weiskopf. The extremely broad fairways in this design and strategically placed bunkers will present players with particular challenges. Only the geological conditions are significantly different, due to the course’s location. The parkland-style courses are fringed with dense areas of palms and impressive ficus trees.
Mon 22.04.2024 Acapulco, Mexico – Princess Mundo Imperial Golf Course
The 18 holes of this course are divided into two different options. The front nine make their way through a grove of coconut palms, which limit the widths of the fairways. On the back nine, the fairways open out considerably, providing forgiveness for failed shots. However, water is generally a consideration – twelve of the 18 holes are influenced by this factor. All in all, this is certainly a layout that gives all levels a fair chance.
Fri 26.04.2024 Puntarenas, Costa Rica – La Iguana Golf Course
A golfing adventure with very special flora and fauna. An impressive 60 % of the fairways make their way through breathtaking jungle landscapes. The extraordinary bird species that live in this region vie for attention along the way with their calls. If you can afford to take your eye off the ball, you might feel the gaze of a watching yellow-throated toucan and other creatures. Although the fairways are very narrow in places, posing quite some difficulty, the course provides an unforgettable experience far beyond the golf itself.
