This interesting golfing adventure takes you around the British Isles, visiting the full spectrum of classic golf design. Each course is a special highlight in itself. An absolute must for golfers who don't just appreciate the game, but also the aesthetics of a golf course. In order words: a cruise for connoisseurs.
Sun 17.09.2023 Newhaven (Edinburgh), Scotland - Gullane Golf Club – No. 2 - additional course 1
A round of Scottish golf is on the agenda. No. 2 is one of three 18-hole options at Gullane Golf Club. The fairways are Scottish traditional links style on the original dune subsoil. Accordingly, the fairways are expansive, yet heavily modulated and repeatedly feature pot bunkers typical of the region in the interesting landing zones. Whoever has survived this round can justifiably claim to have played "The Scottish Way" of golf!
Mon 18.09.2023 Invergordon, Scotland - Castle Stuart Golf Club
A links course like out of a picture book presents itself in the north of Scotland. 50% of the fairways are constantly in more or less direct contact with the accompanying Alturlie Bay. The fairways, which are relatively wide for a links course, are significantly influenced by the original strongly modulated dune landscape in the subsoil, which repeatedly comes to light in between. In addition to the dune grass typical for the region, the playing surfaces are also occasionally accompanied by dense broom bushes.
Fri 22.09.2023 Liverpool, England - West Lancashire Golf Club
Look forward to highly modulated, narrow fairways with impenetrable roughs and fast greens. This is a prime example of a typical northern English links course. As well as tricky fairways, you'll have to contend with the constantly changing coastal wind as you play, which makes careful course management essential. This is authentic English golfing.
Sat 23.09.2023 Dun Laoghaire (Dublin), Ireland - Powerscourt Golf Club
In the hinterland of Dublin, directly around an old English manor house, there are two 18-hole parkland adventures. The O'Meara Course on the map was designed by the eponymous pro Mark O'Meara over 20 years ago - and is rated as one of the ten best parkland courses in Ireland. The generously designed fairways pass numerous historic buildings and create the special charm of the course.
Mon 25.09.2023 Portsmouth, England - South Winchester Golf Club - additional course 2
The parkland course shows hints of a links course every now and then on the round. The 18 slightly modulated fairways present themselves invitingly with partly very generous dimensions. The rather restrained bunkering of the course also promises an enjoyable golfing experience. Only the ninth hole, a par 4 with 375 metres, requires a measure of tactics, as a water protects the green.
