Mon 14.05 Abu Dhabi – Abu Dhabi Golf Club (additional course)
This exquisite championship course is like an oasis in the middle of the desert, with greens and fairways that look so good they almost seem artificial. The spectacular complex is dominated by a huge clubhouse with a silhouette in the shape of a falcon. As you start your round, you will quickly forget that everything here is built on sand. The imposing 7,440 m (24,409 ft) par-72 course has seven artificial lakes and 90 bunkers.
Wed 16.05 Mina Khalifa – The Royal Golf Club
Colin Montgomery built this club in what looked like an oversized sandpit. This might sound a bit disparaging, but it’s true. However, the golfing legend made the most of the local terrain and created a real masterpiece on this stretch of desert. It’s no surprise when, here and there, very impressive natural bunkers crop up on the undulating fairways. This is a course you are not likely to forget in a hurry.
Sat 19.05 Muscat – Almouj Golf
Greg Norman, aka “The Shark”, designed a links course here among the desert dunes of Oman. He succeeded in creating a special kind of golf oasis between the beach and the desert, where every tee shot is an experience. When designing the fairways, he was careful to ensure that they provided interesting views of the surrounding landscape. This makes a game of golf here a real visual treat.
Mon 21.05 Dubai – The Address Montgomerie golf club
Once again, Colin Montgomerie created an outstanding championship course here. The golfing professional took inspiration from his homeland – Scotland – and designed an interesting links course that perfectly incorporates the local conditions. At the 18th hole, he created a very special challenge from the championship tee, which requires players to use all the skill they can muster. The par 5, measuring an imposing 600 m (1,969 ft), is something even seasoned pros consider a real test.
Stefan Quirmbach is one of the leading golf experts in Germany. In 1996, he received the PGAs of Europe Five-Star Professional award, known today as the Confederation of Professional Golf (CPG), which has since awarded him with the 2021 Christer Lindberg Bowl for his outstanding contributions to golf. He has been president of the PGA of Germany for many years and has been sharing his expertise in health-conscious golfing for all levels on board for quite some time now. He has also been working with Golf Resort Hardenberg – where his own golf school is based – since 2004.
