One of Palawan Province’s greatest specialities is definitely its breathtaking natural landscapes. Take EL NIDO, for example. The EUROPA will be calling at its port for the first time. There are a great many small, idyllic islands off the steep cliffs. Set out in outriggers* to discover their diversity. A little further south you’ll find PUERTO PRINCESA, which gave its name to the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. An underground boat trip* on the Sabang River will not only take you on a journey of discovery to the home of endemic wildlife, but also provide you with a welcome opportunity to cool down, given that temperatures here rarely fall below 30 °C.

From PAREPARE, follow in the footsteps of old indigenous tribes on a strenuous but rewarding day trip. With its stilt buildings that look like ships and its intricate carvings, the village of the Toraja* feels like a mysterious religious site. The region’s largest group of people are the Bugis, who travelled to the Australian continent long before the European colonialists arrived. The next stop on your cruise is KOMODO. There aren’t many people living on this unspoilt island – but it is home to the world’s largest lizard. If, during a walk with rangers*, you spot a Komodo dragon – which can be up to 3 m (9.8 ft.) long – you’ll feel as though you have gone back in time to the age of the dinosaurs. On Bali, the “island of the gods”, your unforgettable cruise will come to an end.
