Plenty of time to get to know Barcelona’s panorama* with the Columbus Monument, the Plaça de Catalunya and the Spanish Village, which was established on the occasion of the World Exposition 1929. Or would you like to discover the city by retracing the footsteps of Gaudí*? The Catalan genius left his mark on Barcelona with works such as the fancy Park Güell, the Casa Milà and his masterpiece, the unfinished church Sagrada Familia, in the crypt of which he was laid to rest in 1926. Construction work on the impressive house of prayer that was consecrated by Pope Benedict XVI in 2010 continues to the present day. A myth-enshrouded Black Madonna statue is being preserved at Montserrat Monastery* on the mountain of the same name. The Benedictine abbey dating back to the 10th century is one of Catalonia’s most frequently visited pilgrimage destinations and already offers a picturesque sight from afar.
