Thu 27.02.2025 Le Port (Reunion), South Africa – Le Golf du Bassin Bleu
This 18-hole paradise is located on a 400 m (1,312 ft) plateau above the sea in the west of the island. From this exposed vantage point, a round of golf offers a series of outstanding views of the beach resort of Saint Gilles and the bay below. The actual round is divided into two halves – with the first part mainly taking place on very narrow, straight fairways lined with gnarled eucalyptus trees, while the second part finds its way to the green on lushly laid-out fairways.
Fri 07.03.2025 Durban, South Africa – Durban Country Club
The fairways are designed as links in the immediate vicinity of the former World Cup football stadium. Following the Scottish model, the striking fairways were placed in the existing dune landscape located directly by the Indian Ocean. The fairways are correspondingly modulated and offer views of the ocean as well as the skyline of Durban – with the aforementioned 2010 World Cup stadium as well. However, anyone who strays from the path here should definitely have an extra ball ready.
Mon 10.03.2025 Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth), South Africa – Humewood Golf Club
Since 1929, the rugged dune landscape of Algoa Bay has been home to a challenging links course layout. This traditional 18-hole course played a significant role in establishing South Africa’s golfing tradition and has hosted many international tournaments. The existing sand hazards are rightly named, as they can be up to 1 m (1 yd) deep, just like the English model. Not considering these obstacles, this is a beautiful place to play on the coast of the Indian Ocean.
Wed 12.03.2025 Mossel Bay, South Africa – Pinnacle Point Golf Club
This championship course is a true challenge, as the wide, sweeping fairways only open up after the tee shot through a reasonable carry – on almost every hole. Hole 5, a par 5 with 488 m (533 yd), might pose a particular difficulty, as it offers ten well-set bunker landscapes on the fairway leading to the finish. Or the 18th hole, a par 5 with 463 m (506 yd), which also only develops after the first carry and ends in front of the clubhouse directly on the coastal cliffs.
