Hapag-Lloyd Cruises optimises pricing structure – two rates for greater transparency and flexible travel planning

Hapag-Lloyd Cruises is introducing an optimised fare model for all new bookings as of December 2, 2025. Two clearly defined fares will replace the previous three-tier model: PLATINUM and SILVER. This development is a targeted step toward simplifying the fare logic while also taking into account guests' desire for greater flexibility and clarity in individual travel planning.

The optimisation makes the fare model for the luxury and expedition fleet simpler and more transparent; two clearly defined fares create more clarity in the consultation and booking process. The new fare model applies to all new bookings made on or after 2 December 2025. Clas Eckholt, Vice President Commercial, TUI Cruises: “With the new pricing structure, we want to make travel decisions clearer and easier for our guests in the future. The reduction to two fares and the expanded flexibility options in the PLATINUM fare give our guests more leeway in their individual travel planning, while the SILVER fare continues to offer a reliable range of services.” For existing bookings, the previous conditions remain unchanged.

PLATINUM: expanded flexibility and planning security

Under the revised PLATINUM fare, guests will in future benefit from a one-time free rebooking of their travel date up to 90 days before departure. In addition, travel cancellation is possible up to 180 days before departure for a small processing fee. For cruises of 22 days or more and for the highest suite categories, slightly adjusted rebooking and cancellation policies provide additional planning security. The PLATINUM fare thus offers significantly more flexibility, especially for guests who want to secure their travel plans early but still be able to make adjustments if necessary. The existing benefits of the PLATINUM fare continue to include free choice of cabin/suite and deck, as well as the option to book shore excursions as soon as they are published.

SILVER: unchanged scope of services with optional insurance

The SILVER fare retains the previous scope of services unchanged and can be booked –as before – subject to availability. The suite or cabin and deck are selected by Hapag-Lloyd Cruises at the beginning of the cruise; shore excursions can be booked 14 days after they are published.

Additional enhancement from 2026

A further adjustment concerns the beverage offering: Hapag-Lloyd Cruises is further enhancing the extensive range of services included in the cruise fare on board. For all departures from January 3, 2026, a selection of soft drinks will be available to all guests throughout the day at no extra charge. In addition, the extensive inclusive services offered by both fares continue to include champagne on arrival, a minibar refilled daily, 24-hour cabin or suite service, as well as full board with gourmet cuisine. Depending on the itinerary, included experiences such as Zodiac excursions complement the itinerary.
