    Duo Circu - Gologan

Praised for their "technical perfection and breathtaking sound beauty," the Piano Duo Cîrciu–Gologan was founded by Roxana Cîrciu and Andrei Gologan during their studies at the University Mozarteum in Salzburg. Driven by a shared desire to explore the intimate art of the piano duo, Roxana and Andrei regularly perform in renowned venues such as the Mozarteum Foundation in Salzburg, the Alban Berg Hall of Stift Ossiach, the Solothurn Konzerthaus, and the Vienna Rathaus. Recent highlights include radio engagements and performances across Europe at festivals such as SoNoRo Musikland in Transylvania, the Schubertiade RTS in Sion, the Mozart Festival in Sicily, and the Ocean Sun Festival in Turku. Beyond their concert activities, the two pianists are dedicated to creating spaces for artistic exchange. In this spirit, they founded the international Buzz Chamber Music Festival in Obertrum am See, which will enter its third edition in April 2026. The festival presents classical chamber music from a fresh perspective while actively engaging with new audiences. In addition to her performance activities, Roxana is a passionate educator, committed to nurturing the next generation of pianists. Meanwhile, Andrei, a protégé of legendary musicians such as Sir András Schiff and Richard Goode, is an internationally acclaimed soloist who has performed in leading concert halls including the Berlin Philharmonie and Wigmore Hall in London.

    Commeter

"Every beginning has its magic," wrote Hermann Hesse. When the Commeter Art Gallery opened in 1821 on Johannisstraße, it was the first business of its kind in Hamburg. The founders, Ernst Georg Harzen and Johann Matthias Commeter, significantly shaped the city's art scene and left a lasting legacy with 30,000 engravings and drawings that founded the Kupferstichkabinett at the Kunsthalle. In 1847, Wilhelm Becker and Christian Meyer took over the gallery, which was further developed by Wilhelm Suhr in 1878 and moved to a magnificent Art Nouveau building in 1908. Suhr Junior led the gallery into the modern era, showcasing Munch, Nolde, and other Expressionists, becoming a key address for modern art. In 1952, Andreas Suhr took over, followed by his daughter Hella Suhr. Today, Carola Persiehl, a descendant of the founders, runs the gallery and features contemporary artists such as Jochen Hein, Maria Ikonomopoulou, and Klaus Schweier. In 2007, she co-founded the sister gallery Persiehl & Heine, specializing in contemporary photography. The gallery’s legacy of art enthusiasm and business acumen continues to thrive.
