Few artists embody the musical spirit of Berlin as vividly and diversely as Sharon Brauner. A singer, actress, author, and director, she seamlessly blends jazz, chanson, classical music, klezmer, and Berlin's rich entertainment tradition into a unique stage experience filled with charm, wit, and passion. Born and raised in West Berlin, Sharon Brauner has been performing on stage and in front of the camera since early childhood. Following her acting training and her first engagements as a jazz singer in New York, she released five albums featuring original German-language songs alongside beloved Yiddish classics. Her musical work has earned both critical acclaim and a devoted audience, culminating in the Walter von der Vogelweide Prize in 2018. Her album Lounge Jewels was hailed by the press as a "masterpiece" and reached No. 2 on the Amazon music charts. Throughout her career, Sharon Brauner has collaborated with renowned artists including Daniel Hope, Till Brönner, Giora Feidman, The Klezmatics, the Casal Quartet, and Karsten Troyke. Her concert tours have taken her to stages across Europe. As an actress, she has appeared in more than 60 film and television productions. In the award-winning feature film The Last Supper (Das letzte Mahl), she not only appeared on screen but also served as co-producer. Her directorial debut, the short film Live and Let Live (Leben und leben lassen), delivers a powerful message against prejudice and antisemitism and continues to be used by various organizations as an educational resource. From 2016 to 2026, Sharon Brauner delighted audiences at Berlin's Tipi am Kanzleramt, starring as Marie in Paul Lincke's operetta classic Frau Luna. With her musical revue Berlin, Du coole Sau! ("Berlin, You Cool Beast!"), she created a vibrant love letter to Germany's capital. Since its premiere in 2021, the production has captivated audiences and will embark on a major tour across Germany in the 2026/27 season, visiting 45 cities. With her unmistakable blend of music, storytelling, and authentic Berlin flair, Sharon Brauner has enchanted audiences for many years—sometimes moving, sometimes delightfully humorous, but always deeply genuine.
