Lea Birringer
Lea Birringer first attracted attention as a young student with her debut at the Berlin Philharmonie. During her studies with Igor Ozim at the Mozarteum Salzburg and Pavel Vernikov at the Music and Arts Private University of Vienna, she established herself as a prizewinner at international competitions and is now a sought-after soloist and chamber musician. She regularly appears with renowned orchestras and at major festivals, including the Deutsche Radio Philharmonie, Staatskapelle Weimar, Staatskapelle Halle, Staatsorchester Rheinische Philharmonie, Polska Filharmonia Bałtycka, and the Orchestra Sinfonica di Roma, and has performed in leading concert halls such as the Musikverein Vienna, Konzerthaus Berlin, Laeiszhalle Hamburg, and the Louvre in Paris. As winner of the 15th International Johannes Brahms Competition, she was awarded the Cultural Prize of the Saarbrücken Cultural Association. Alongside her solo career, Lea Birringer is an active chamber musician and has collaborated with artists such as Igor Levit, Wen-Sinn Yang, and Barbara Bonney. She frequently performs with her sister Esther as a duo, and their joint recordings have been enthusiastically received by critics. Her recent recordings have received outstanding reviews and were nominated for the International Classical Music Awards. In 2025, another album will be released, produced in cooperation with SWR Kultur and the Staatsorchester Rheinische Philharmonie. Lea Birringer previously taught at the Haute École de Musique de Lausanne (Sion) and at the Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt Weimar. Since November 2024, she has been Professor of Violin at the University of Music Würzburg.
