Claude Frochaux
Claude Frochaux, born in Turin, Italy, studied in his home country as well as in Frankfurt, Essen, and Madrid. His solo and chamber music concerts have taken him to Italy and other European countries, performing in prestigious venues such as the Wigmore Hall, the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, and the Musikverein Vienna, as well as to North and South America, India, and China. As a sought-after and passionate chamber musician, he has performed at festivals such as Schleswig-Holstein, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Beethovenfest Bonn, Enescu Bucharest, Kuhmo Finland, Oxford, and Mozartfest Würzburg. His performances have been broadcast by BR, WDR, SWR, NDR, Deutschlandfunk, RAI3, and Radio Clasica.
In 2008, he founded the Monte Piano Trio, with which he won numerous international prizes, and their CDs released by Genuin Classics have received various accolades. He regularly collaborates with artists such as Irina Zahhrenkova, Olli Mustonen, and Hugo Ticciati, as well as with ensembles like O/Modernt Stockholm and the Chamber Orchestra of Europe. Claude Frochaux is the artistic director of the KmfSylt, an international chamber music festival held annually on the German island since 2012. He also founded MUSICA+, a musical concept aimed at introducing classical music to diverse audiences through chamber, school, and children's concerts, as well as workshops. Claude Frochaux plays one of only six known cellos by G. F. Celoniato from Turin, dating back to 1720.
