art2sea
With art2sea, the EUROPA 2 offers a unique cultural programme that combines contemporary art with an exclusive cruise experience. The voyage explores the cultural connections and points of tension between Japan and China. In collaboration with art collectors Lea and Christian Schwarm, a curated programme has been developed that focuses on the dialogue between different artistic perspectives and cultural identities. Both on board and ashore, they will work with selected guests – including the entrepreneur Ailin Huang – to create spaces for encounters, conversations and new perspectives on the cultural transitions between the regions visited.
Désiré Feuerle, founder of the Feuerle Collection in Berlin and known for his cross-temporal dialogues between East Asian art and contemporary art, will act as an additional curatorial inspiration.
Planned highlights include visits to the Kirishima Open Air Museum in Japan, the 798 Art Zone in Beijing and the studio of artist Guan Xiao in Shanghai. The programme is complemented by visits to selected museums and collections, as well as discussions with key figures from the international art world.
As the on-board gallery, photographer Nina Papiorek will present her work and accompany the programme with an exhibition of her pieces.
