With the internationally acclaimed choreographer Diego Tortelli, EUROPA 2 presents one of the most significant and innovative minds in contemporary dance. Tortelli’s distinctive artistic signature—a powerful fusion of physical precision, emotional depth, and visual poetry—comes to life in BODIES ON GLASS, a captivating solo work that explores the human body in all its fragility, strength, and beauty.

This evocative piece is a choreographic meditation on transparency, vulnerability, and the power found in resisting apparent fragility.

In addition, an exclusive world premiere takes place on board, developed by Diego Tortelli in collaboration with the legendary Italian company Aterballetto. Aterballetto, one of Europe’s most prestigious dance companies with decades of tradition in artistic excellence and innovation, combines classical elegance with modern expressiveness and choreographic experimentation in this new work. Under Tortelli’s visionary direction, the performance merges technical brilliance, emotional intensity, and creative daring into an unforgettable experience.

These two productions mark an extraordinary moment in the international dance landscape, available exclusively on board the EUROPA 2. They not only reflect the diversity and depth of contemporary physical artistry but also embody the close connection between tradition and innovation, corporeality and poetry, represented by Diego Tortelli and Aterballetto as outstanding artistic personalities.

Italian choreographer Diego Tortelli is one of the most distinctive voices in the European dance scene. After training at the Accademia Nazionale di Danza in Rome and the Accademia Susanna Egri in Turin, he danced with companies including the Balletto di Toscana Junior Company, the Ballet of the Bavarian State Opera, and the Ballet National de Marseille. These experiences shaped his unmistakable artistic signature, which combines clear, architectural movement with emotional depth and poetic imagery. Since 2019, Tortelli has been the Resident Choreographer of the legendary Italian company Aterballetto, with whom he has developed internationally acclaimed productions. His works, including BODIES ON GLASS, Another Story, and Domus Aurea, have been performed on prestigious stages across Europe and are known for their physical precision, atmospheric density, and the powerful dialogue between body, space, and music. Tortelli’s choreography explores the language of the body between structure and instinct, between fragile vulnerability and powerful expressiveness. With his clear artistic vision, he succeeds in staging contemporary dance as both an aesthetic and emotional experience. On board the EUROPA 2, Diego Tortelli presents both his work BODIES ON GLASS and an exclusive world premiere developed in collaboration with Aterballetto. In doing so, he brings the artistic power of his movement language and the excellence of one of Europe’s most prestigious ensembles to the stage—intense, sensual, and full of expression.
