AUREUS brings together five internationally acclaimed soloists who have shared the world’s major stages for many years. United by long-standing artistic friendship and stylistic versatility, the ensemble explores repertoire from Baroque to contemporary, creating performances defined by spontaneity, intensity, and the spirit of the moment. Lea Hausmann (violin) is co-founder of the Amatis Trio and appears internationally as a soloist and chamber musician, including performances at the BBC Proms and with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Samuel Shepherd (cello) performs worldwide as cellist of the Amatis Trio in leading venues such as the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg and Wigmore Hall. Guntrun Hausmann (violin) is Principal Second Violin of the Frankfurter Opern- und Museumsorchester and regularly appears as a guest with major orchestras including the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig and at the Bayreuther Festspiele. Ib Hausmann (clarinet) enjoys an international career as soloist and chamber musician, with award-winning recordings released by Deutsche Grammophon and collaborations with distinguished artists worldwide. Alexander Ullman (piano), winner of the 2017 International Liszt Competition, performs with leading orchestras such as the Philadelphia Orchestra and appears in venues including the Concertgebouw. AUREUS stands for chamber music at the highest level — vibrant, refined, and unmistakably alive.
