Pianist
Mariam Batsashvili
Mariam Batsashvili captivates audiences worldwide with her charisma, brilliance, and depth of expression. Since 2019, the Georgian pianist has been exclusively signed with Warner and has established herself in the record and streaming markets. Her career has taken her to over 30 countries and prestigious concert halls. She regularly performs at festivals such as the Klavier-Festival Ruhr, the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival, and the Edinburgh International Festival. Beyond Europe, she is also a sought-after interpreter of piano literature from Bach to late Romanticism.
Her successes at the Franz Liszt Competitions in Weimar (2011) and Utrecht (2014) have closely linked her name with Liszt. Her Warner debut album Chopin Liszt (2019) reflects this connection. She deepened her Liszt expertise with Grigory Gruzman in Weimar and through exchanges with legendary Liszt interpreters like Leslie Howard. Media outlets such as The Guardian and Süddeutsche Zeitung praise her distinctive touch and her sensitivity to the poetry of Liszt.
Apart from Liszt, Batsashvili also receives high praise for her interpretations of Schubert, Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, and Brahms. As an "ECHO Rising Star" and "BBC New Generation Artist," she was part of exclusive young artist programs. In the 2024/25 season, she will return to major concert halls and plans to release a new album. With over 70,000 followers, she is also successful on social media, where she offers tutorials for pianists on Instagram.
