  • Pop/Soul

    Torsten Goods

The number eight represents infinity or a new beginning in some cultures. For Torsten Goods, often called the "German George Benson," this symbolism is reflected in his new album Soul Searching, the result of eight years of creative exploration. Deutschlandfunk praised his music as "grounded, groovy, and complex." His seventh album blends influences from jazz, soul, blues, and late 70s West Coast/AOR sounds, featuring guests like Randy Brecker and Nils Landgren.

Soul Searching also explores Torsten's physical transformation due to the autoimmune condition alopecia, which causes hair loss. The album centers on the journey of finding a new identity and accepting his new appearance, with songs like "Naked Funk" and "I Had To Learn Not To Care." Alongside his solo career, Torsten is also the musical director for Sarah Connor.

During his album release tour, Torsten traveled across Germany, Switzerland, the UK, and Ireland with his long-time band. The concerts featured both the new album and fan favorites, with a highlight being a standout performance at JazzBaltica 2024. Torsten’s recipe for success: "Gentle vocals, fast guitar, and feel-good grooves."
