Your circumnavigation of Ireland begins unusually on the Iberian peninsula. The Celtic culture stretched this far until almost 2,000 years ago and its legacy is still deeply rooted in La Coruna today. The pilgrimage site Santiago de Compostela* is a timeless attraction before you discover the Isles of Scilly. One day, two islands: In the “English South Seas”, Tresco features a fascinating subtropical Abbey Garden and St Mary’s a pretty coastline. Then, in Ireland, extensive rolling hills as well as cliffs appear on the endless horizon. Picturesque harbour towns and proud castles have a history to tell. In Cork, you can explore the narrow streets from the ship’s mooring point in the centre of the city. The Rock of Cashel*, once home to the kings of Munster and later an archbishop’s seat, is history set in stone. The beehive huts built by the monks which are perched on Great Skellig are as mysterious as the garden island of Garinish Island is idyllic. On the peninsula of Dingle, the Ring of Dingle* combines scenic diversity. Great Blasket Island* appears almost untouched. From a “work of art” of erosion while cruising off the Cliffs of Moher, your course takes you to prehistoric artefacts on the Aran Islands. With its lakes, mountains, oak forests and historic estate, the Glenveagh National Park* near Killybegs is full of panoramic views. Alternatively, take a hike to the 600 m (1,968 ft) high cliffs of Slieve League*. Rathlin Island is a paradise for ornithologists. Observe kittiwakes and puffins on the cliffs before the vibrant city of Belfast gives you an insight into the heart of Northern Ireland. The Giant’s Causeway* with over 37,000 basalt columns will become the symbol of the many facets of your cruise.

    * The shore activities are not included in the cruise price and are in the planning stage. Subject to change.
