EUROPA 2: Guests learn to cook in the only Miele Culinary School at sea; and join workshops hosted by gourmet experts

EUROPA 2, Hapag-Lloyd Cruises’ five-star-plus ship*, features the only Miele-equipped culinary school at sea, complementing the wide range of cuisine offered by the seven different restaurants on board this luxury cruise ship. At the cookery courses held in the school, where entertainment is part of the experience, participating guests not only learn about the cuisine they will discover at individual destinations, but are also taught by EUROPA 2’s on board chefs how to conjure up these delicious works of art themselves.

The Miele culinary school is the venue for hosting cookery classes, as well as workshops with renowned, gourmet guest experts. On selected cruises, Hapag-Lloyd Cruises invites these experts on board EUROPA 2, who come from a range of culinary fields and will give gourmet-loving guests exclusive insights into each of their specialist fields.

In this latest episode of, British cruise expert Jonathan Beaumont experiences first-hand how the Miele culinary school works. Jonathan interviews Wolfgang Otto of Otto Gourmet, who supplies meat to some of the best restaurants in Germany and Europe. In Wolfgang Otto’s “Perfect Meat Academy” guests learn how to prepare various types of meat like a professional chef.
