Thu 13.01 Lyttelton (Christchurch) – Clearwater Golf Club
This is a demanding parkland course. Eleven of the fairways are bordered by water. In addition, the fast plateau greens feature various strategic bunkers – making well-positioned shots even more important. The teeing grounds overlooking the fairways provide clear orientation, so players are aware of the course of play from the beginning.
Fri 14.01 Port Chalmers – Otago Golf Club
This striking parkland course features some very narrow fairways. The 14th hole will prove particularly memorable – the back tee box, a 45° dog-leg, requires a drive of at least 220 m (722 ft). This is the only way to achieve the perfect line on the 404 m (1,325 ft) long fairway and have a chance of meeting the course’s demands.
Wed 19.01 Hobart/Tasmania – Royal Hobart Golf Club
This 18-hole course has a history dating back to 1896 and was completely modernised in 1997. Nowadays, wide fairways, large, fast greens and 80 strategically placed bunkers await players. This is the course where Jack Nicklaus won the Australian Open in 1971. Play takes place between bushland and the Indian Ocean. A truly historic experience.
Sun 23.01 Adelaide – Royal Adelaide Golf Club
The Royal Adelaide is one of six golf courses located in the centre of Adelaide. It is known for its broad fairways and large, sometimes deep pot bunkers. These sand traps, designed in the British fashion, guard most of the greens. Before beginning your round, it is therefore recommended that you head to the practice bunker.
Tue 25.01 Melbourne – Woodlands Golf & Country Club
Two city courses with wonderfully spacious fairways await challengers not far from the famous St Kilda Beach. Both the Masters Course and Signature Course offer an interesting, but manageable game. The two courses have one thing in common: almost every hole has water features that play a greater or lesser role on the individual fairways.
A varied golf adventure around the Tasman Sea awaits you.
