The monks of the Shaolin Monastery in the Chinese province Henan, who celebrated the 1500th anniversary of their temple in 1995, decided to present their art to a broad public in honour of the occasion. They engaged the producer, Herbert Fechter, to develop a stage show which would effectively present the basic philosophy of Zen Buddhism and the fantastic meditation techniques of Qi Gong along with the spectacular exercises of the Hard Qi Gong to audiences.
...No one had any idea that this would be the start of a triumphant procession through the world's theatres and venues which would last ten years and confront more than 3 million people with the mystic forces of the mysterious monks for the first time.

The show has attracted enormous attention from the media and audiences in more than 1500 performances on four continents and has always been received with enthusiasm.

The Violinist Christoph Seybold, was born in Stuttgart to German-Austrian parents. After early successes in National Youth Competitions, he was accepted at age 11 at the Pre College Class of Prof. Marschner in Freiburg University. Later on he continued his formal studies in Cologne New York and Hannover and found additional inspiration and advice from artists such as Pinchas Zuckerman, Maxim Vengerov and Christoph Eschenbach. He performed in major concert halls such as the Berlin Philharmonie, the Konzerthaus Berlin, the Laeizhalle Hamburg, the Meistersingerhalle Nürnberg, the Herkulessaal and Philharmonie Munich, the Liederhalle Stuttgart, the Philharmonie St. Petersburg, the Philharmonie Osaka, Opera City Tokyo, Hong Kong Arts Center, the Glenn Gould Studio Toronto as well as Festivals in Schleswig Holstein, Mecklenburg Vorpommern, Geneva, Lugano, Lisbon,Barcelona, Oslo.
His passion for Italy has led him to become the artistic director of the Como Music festival based on the summer residence of Konrad Adenauer in Cadenabbia.

In January of 2016 Haiou Zhang conquered more than 15000 concertgoers with 14 recitals throughout major concert halls in China. His Liszt and Mozart discs under the nobel label hänssler CLASSIC is now on the market worldwide. Lufthansa have selected it in the official board music programs. Reviews have been raves throughout Europe, the United States, Canada, and South America. Highlights in recent seasons engagements include NDR Radio Philharmonic Hanover under Andrew Manze, Ontario Philharmonic Orchestra under Marco Parisotto, Heidelberger Sinfoniker under Thomas Fey, Hamburger Symphoniker under Xin Tan, Philharmonie Festiva under Gerd Schaller, Russian Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra St. Petersburg under Juri Gilbo, Orchestra Filharmonica della Calabria under Filippo Arlia, as well debuts at he Concergebouw Amsterdam, Canadian Opera House in Toronto, the NCPA Beijing, Beijing Concert Hall and recitals in Berlin, Munich, Frankfurt,Vienna, Cagliari and Oslo. Haiou Zhang conquered thousands of his concert goers throughout the 2010 Canadian Tour with the Slovak State Symphony Orchestra under Kerry Stratton, with Beethoven’s Emperor piano concerto.
