Wellington, 7.00 – 19.00 hrs
Wellington/New Zealand
The gently rolling green hills may well remind film fans of the film of J.R.R. Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings novels. It’s hardly surprising that “Wellywood” has developed into the centre of New Zealand’s film industry in recent years. The charming city of Wellington* has an exciting story of its own to tell, with the views from Mount Victoria* or at the Te Papa Tongarewa national museum, where you can see the country’s treasures. The Zealandia* sanctuary is like a journey back in time through the country’s pristine forests. In this lovingly reforested reserve, native birds and animals threatened with extinction are well protected.
Nelson, 7.00 – 19.00 hrs
Nelson/New Zealand
This idyllic city on Tasman Bay attracts plenty of artists and soul searchers with its charming wooden houses from the colonial era and Christ Church Cathedral built in the art deco style. The waves break gently on the golden sands of Abel Tasman National Park*, and in the surrounding rainforests you can hear a chorus of colourful birds. On a hike* to Pitt Head, you can explore New Zealand’s smallest national park with its amazing natural panoramas. On a kayak tour* along the picturesque coastline, you can see the beautiful scenery from the water.
Relaxation at sea
Mount Maunganui (Tauranga), 7.00 – 19.00 hrs
Mount Maunganui (Tauranga)/New Zealand
Like a green lighthouse, the extinct volcano of Mount Maunganui watches over the Bay of Plenty and the city of Tauranga, which stretches along a sand bank. Take a hike* on the mountain and learn all about its ancient legends. One of New Zealand’s many natural phenomena will hold you spellbound in the Rotorua* geothermal area, with geysers shooting water 20 m into the air and brightly coloured pools of hot water.
Bay of Islands, 7.00 – 19.00 hrs
Bay of Islands/New Zealand
A total of 140 green islands sparkling in the endless blue shades of the ocean – enjoy the beautiful sight of the Bay of Islands on a helicopter flight*. The Cape Brett* lighthouse watches over beautiful Paihia Bay, showing you the way to the famous Hole in the Rock on your boat trip. The excursion to Waitangi* takes you over historic ground: in Treaty House, the first peace treaty between the Maori and the British was signed in 1840, heralding the birth of New Zealand. You can also walk through the grounds to visit the Maori meeting house with its intricate wood carvings.
Relaxation at sea
Norfolk Island/Australia, 7.00 – 17.00 hrs
Norfolk Island/Australia
When James Cook arrived here in 1774, he found an uninhabited island and called it “paradise”. Still today, only about 2,000 people live on the tiny island, which you can explore on your own and see its tropical vegetation and amazing views at Norfolk Island National Park. The island also has an interesting history: at the Kingston and Arthur’s Vale Historic Area, you can see what life must have been like in an 18th-century penal colony.
Relaxation at sea
Champagne Beach/Espiritu Santo/Vanuatu, 6.00 – 18.00 hrs
Champagne Beach/Espiritu Santo/Vanuatu
A total of 83 islands form the sovereign island state of Vanuatu, which has ancient traditions that are as impressive as its pristine natural surroundings. The white beaches on the island’s north coast are particularly beautiful. Forget your cares on the white sands of Champagne Beach.
Metenovor Bay/Malakula, 7.00 – 13.00 hrs
Vao Island/Malakula/Vanuatu
Vao is located on the north-east of Malakula, the second-largest of Vanuatu's islands. Life happens even more traditionally here and at an even more leisurely pace. After being warmly welcomed by the friendly islanders, you will get a look at the simple and traditional ways of their village life, take a walk on your own or enjoy some relaxing hours on the beach.
Port Vila/Efate, 7.00 – 13.00 hrs
Port Vila/Efate/Vanuatu
Stroll through the lively capital of the island state or explore the tropical island interior. A hike* to the Mele Cascades Waterfall will be rewarded by a refreshing dip in the natural pools. In the village of Yarofa*, where the locals will show you their traditional way of life, you can gain some insights into the cultural heritage of Vanuatu. A dive will reveal some fascinating sights: coral has turned a sunken wreck from the Second World War into an underwater habitat.

Our Vitality at Sea activity programme pays special attention to your health. Take part in lectures and courses, which will vary according to each cruise and are offered in conjunction with some well-known partners, and treat yourself to some refreshing time out far away from everyday life.
Once again this year, the on-board programme will be determined by the waves in waltz time as we say "Let the waltz begin." Whilst the debutantes take to the floor for the magnificent Opera Ball at the Wiener Staatsoper in Vienna, the officers and crew members on board will start their dance thousands of nautical miles away. Here, in the midst of a sea of flowers and a venue decorated especially for the event, you can dance the night way in evening dress. At the EUROPA Opera Ball, you will also be treated to culinary delights to rival those served in Vienna.
