You can almost touch the history of the Maori people in the Treaty House*, the grounds of which were where the peace treaty between the British Crown and the Maori was signed in 1840. Encounter a legend at the end of your hike to the Haruru Falls* – it is said that a spirit dwells under the thundering water. With a bit of luck, however, you are far more likely to meet up with the cormorants that nest here.

Here opposites are located almost next to one another: follow the legends of the “House of the Sun” to the barren Haleakala Crater* in the east, while in the west the fertile Iao Valley* spreads out at your feet. Discover why the island bears the nickname “Valley Isle” on a fligh* over the north coast of Maui.

    Saturday, 12.03.2016

    Hilo/Hawaii, 7.00 – 14.00 hrs
