Between Hamburg and Canada lie remote islands that do not see very many visitors - wild paradises with surprising and wonderful stories to tell. From the mystical volcanic landscape of Iceland, your journey continues to the craggy coastline of the world's largest island, Greenland. Next, you will be greeted by a mixture of laissez-faire and understatement in French-speaking Quebec – in the midst of the colourful leaves of an Indian summer. What better way to celebrate an anniversary?

This little island is enchanting and offers some amazing insights, such as on a walk* through the green scenery past tranquil lakes to Streymoy Sill*. In the village of Leynar*, you can marvel at the handmade salmon ladders. A visit to the village of Kvivik* dating back more than a thousand years will take you on the trail of the Vikings, and in Kollafjordur* there is a typical 19th-century wooden church.
Relaxation at sea
Akureyri, 8.00 – 18.00 hrs
Akureyri/Iceland
High up in the north of Iceland, the spectacular “Waterfall of the Gods” or Godafoss* is where an Icelandic chieftain is said to have thrown his statues of the gods into the water. Greenland
Landing subject to weather and ice conditions
e.g. in Nuuk and day passage through Prins Christian Sund
Greenland
Amidst the tundra and the mighty inland ice, glaciers and icebergs, the world’s largest island will be your adventure playground for three days with landings and tours by Zodiac depending on weather and ice conditions. Destinations will include the isolated Skjoldungen fjord, for example. This is where Fridjof Nansen began his journey through the Greenland ice. Another marvellous experience is the passage through the narrow Prins Christian Sund. The small but magnificent capital is Nuuk, which combines colonial charm with a modern feel and provides information about the culture of the Inuits in its National Museum. Look forward to some exciting experiences along the Greenland coastline.
Relaxation at sea
St. John’s, 8.00 – 17.00 hrs
St. John’s/Newfoundland/Canada
One of the oldest cities in North America, St. John’s has a long and chequered past – discover historic ground between the colonial streets and the spectacular Cabot Tower on Signal Hill. The lighthouse at Cape Spear* marks the most easterly point on the continent – with magnificent views over the Atlantic. Here you can spot seabirds on the horizon, but a boat trip to the Bay of Bulls* will hopefully bring you right up close to see puffins, kittiwakes and cormorants.
St. Pierre, 8.00 – 13.00 hrs
St. Pierre/Saint Pierre et Miquelon/France
A settlement of French fishermen was established here in 1670 and, with a few short interludes, the island has been a French EU outpost off the East coast of Canada ever since. Make your own individual discovery tour of the small community, which despite its distance from the "motherland" has a very French feel.

Enjoy the full glory of the Indian summer, with brightly coloured forests under a brilliant blue sky, at the Charlevoix* biosphere reserve. If you are looking for a sporting challenge, why not tackle the calm waters around the Ile d’Orleans by canoe*.
