Lyttelton (Christchurch)/New Zealand
For many European explorers, this little port was their initial destination. For you, it will be the starting point for a countryside tour by TranzAlpine train up to Arthur’s Pass*. From these lofty heights, you will return back down to the fertile plains, where you will visit a typical sheep farm*. Or you can discover the region in a more adventurous way – by all-terrain vehicle and jet boat.

Port Chalmers/New Zealand
From this little port, the wonderful train journey on the Taieri Gorge Railway* will take you through narrow tunnels, past forests and over cast-iron viaducts. A boat will take you to the Otago Peninsula*, where with a bit of luck you will see the enormous royal albatross and the extremely rare yellow-eyed penguin.

Stewart Island/New Zealand
Many miles of paths will take you through the unspoilt flora and entice you to have a little rest in such beautiful places as Lee Bay* or Observation Rock*. At the Ulva Island bird sanctuary*, you may well come across the flightless kiwi. As well as this symbolic bird of New Zealand, many other rare species of birds live here, where they are protected from their natural predators.

Hobart/Tasmania/Australia
In the foothills of Mount Wellington, the scenery of a natural harbour will impress you as soon as you arrive. Take a Panorama trip* to the summit for a view over Australia’s second-oldest city, which still today displays evidence of its prosperity from the times of the whaling industry. Discover the colonial harbour district of Battery Point by kayak as you paddle along the quay – and to give you sustenance, we will deliver fish and chips straight to your kayak*.

Burnie/Tasmania/Australia
Craggy peaks, lakes as smooth as glass, dense forests on the moors – Tasmania is sure to fulfil all the wondrous images you have of it. Surprise yourself on a section of the Overland Track, 80 km (50 mi.) long, through the Cradle Mountain National Park*. On the way to Leven Canyon*, you will be able to meet a famous inhabitant – the Tasmanian devil. Along with wombats and echidnas, these creatures have a protected home at the Wings Wildlife Park*.

Adelaide/Australia
This picturesque city owes its nickname, the “City of Churches”, to its early settlers. Today, the colonial city centre*, surrounded by beautiful green parks, is a great place to shop. Also hard to resist is the produce from the fertile country outside the city, where Barossa Valley has made a name for itself as an excellent wine-growing region. Penneshaw/Kangaroo Island/Australia
Koalas dozing in the eucalyptus trees, kangaroos grazing in the bush and pelicans on the coast – a quad bike tour* around Australia’s “Galapagos” promises some unforgettable encounters. On a visit to Seal Bay in Flinders Chase National Park*, you will have a clear view of the strange cliff formations, which have been created by the wind and waves over hundreds of years.

Portland/Australia
Like many other Australian towns and cities, Portland owes its prosperity to the whaling industry.  Discover more about its history on a Discovery tour* from the Botanical Gardens to the whale skeletons in the Maritime Discovery Centre and on to the Cape Nelson lighthouse. The Great Ocean Road* snakes around steep cliffs, picturesque bays and green valleys, offering a spectacular panoramic view. Your destination is the enormous limestone rocks of the Twelve Apostles*, which rise up majestically out of the ocean spray.

Melbourne/Australia
One of the world’s best cities in which to live has room for the past as well as the future.
