Individual travel arrangements to
Hamburg, departure 20.00 hrs
Relaxation at sea
Cowes, 8.00 – 18.00 hrs
Cowes/Isle of Wight/England/Great Britain
Even Queen Victoria and Prince Albert felt very much at home on the Isle of Wight and spent the summer months at their royal residence Osborne House*, which has been a museum since 1903. An island tour in vintage cars* driven by their owners will enable you to get acquainted with this British isle in style.
Greenwich (London), arrival 14.00 hrs
Greenwich/England/Great Britain
The EUROPA docks for two nights in southeast London – giving you a lot of time to explore. The borough of Greenwich* can look back on a rich history. Henry VII lived here, Anne of Denmark had The Queen’s House built and King William commissioned the Old Royal Naval College in 1692. An impressive architectural heritage which has been declared a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site. Cosmopolitan London’s* city centre also has many fascinating facets. Why not enjoy the panoramic tour* including the magnificent view from the capital’s giant Ferris wheel, the London Eye, or go on the big city tour* and see attractions such as Trafalgar Square and Buckingham Palace. The metropolis shows its modern face in the Docklands*. This formerly derelict port area has been transformed into an attractive residential and business district. And the British capital has a lot more to offer – shopping at Harrods, taking afternoon tea in style, a visit to the Tate Modern – what takes your fancy?
Greenwich (London)
Greenwich (London), departure 15.00 hrs
Antwerp, 8.00 – 18.00 hrs
Antwerp/Belgium
This Flemish port city on the bank of the River Scheldt is a little metropolis with the allure of diamonds, fashion and Belgian waffles. From around the 15th to the 17th century, Antwerp was a mecca for painters. Following in the footsteps of Rubens*, the famous Baroque master, you walk past witnesses to history such as the Grote Markt with its imposing city hall, visit the country’s largest Gothic cathedral and Rubens’ former home, which houses a valuable collection of art. Romantic Bruges* and its charming mediaeval townscape will captivate you, as will a trip along the canals and a sculpture of Michelangelo in the Cathedral of Our Lady. A guided walk around Ghent* takes you to magnificent Renaissance and Gothic buildings and also features a sweet treat for the palate - visit a chocolatier in his small atelier and let him show you how chocolates are made – as a matter of course, sampling is included.
Amsterdam, arrival 8.00 hrs
Amsterdam/Netherlands
The EUROPA is docked in the Netherlands multicultural capital until early the next morning, so you have plenty of time to stroll through the snug streets or get a waterside view of Amsterdam’s typical gabled houses on a canal trip*. The Flower Market and the Willet Holthuysen Museum also give you an insight into the city’s past and present. Art enthusiasts will love the Van Gogh Museum* featuring many exceptional paintings and drawings by the Dutch painter.
Amsterdam, departure 7.30 hrs
Oslo, arrival 18.00 hrs
Oslo/Norway
Norway’s green metropolis is located at the northern end of the picturesque Oslofjord, and you can enjoy its appeal until the following evening. You will see the Royal Palace during a city tour* and can take a walk in Vigeland Park. This is where the sculptor Gustav Vigeland left an impressive legacy of his work. A garland of sculpted figures symbolises the human life cycle and is dwarfed by a 17-metre monolith consisting of 121 entwined bodies. A visit to the museum island of Bygdøy* keeps alive the memory of the era of the mighty Norsemen. The Viking Ship Museum houses the Gokstad ship and the Oseberg ship. The latter was buried alongside the Viking Queen Åsa around the year 850. In the Kon-Tiki Museum, you have the opportunity to marvel at the ethnologist Thor Heyerdahl’s balsa raft and at Ra II, with which he sailed across the Atlantic. You can expect a magnificent view of the city, Holmenkollen and the Oslofjord during a sightseeing flight over Oslo*.
Oslo, departure 18.00 hrs
Copenhagen, 12.00 – 19.00 hrs
Copenhagen/Denmark
Why the Danish capital is regarded as one of the world’s most alluring cities soon becomes clear during a walk through Copenhagen*. The Little Mermaid casts her spell down at the harbour, and the elegant Amalienborg Palace is just as amazing as the hip district of Nyhavn with its colourful gabled houses and its many lively cafés and restaurants. A tour of Copenhagen on land and on the water* also takes you along the city’s picturesque canals and past Christianshavn with its attractive half-timbered houses.
