MS EUROPA: seven exciting cruise itineraries in 2011

Hapag-Lloyd Cruises’ MS EUROPA is offering seven exciting international cruises in 2011 including itineraries to Australia, Papua New Guinea, New Zealand, the Mediterranean, the Baltic Sea, Great Britain, Italy and Spain. The EUROPA, rated the world’s only 5-star-plus cruise ship by Berlitz Guide to Cruising and Cruise Ships since its commissioning in 1999 and honoured with the coveted Six-Star-Diamond Award every year by the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences, has earned its sterling reputation for service and accommodations with its long tradition of luxury cruising.

All of the dedicated 2011 international cruises ensure English-speaking passengers feel comfortable from the moment they step onboard. Travel documents and information are provided to guests in English prior to their trip. Documentation in English onboard includes: daily programs, menus, announcements, lectures/video presentations and safety drill instructions. Selected in-room movies are offered in English as well. Shore excursions are offered in English on a group or individual basis whenever possible in the port of call. Lastly, the entire crew is fluent in English.

Brochure Highlights:

In early 2011, MS EUROPA will be traveling through Australia and Papua New Guinea, departing from Darwin/Australia on January 30th and ending in Sydney/Australia on February 16, 2011. Highlights of the itinerary include: the Great Barrier Reef, the Sydney Opera House, the Goroka Highlands: the home of the mudmen of Papua New Guinea, and the picturesque little town of Alotau also in Papua New Guinea.

After it’s very successful debut in 2009, Hapag-Lloyd Cruises is thrilled to be presenting Stella Maris International Vocal Competition again in July 2011. The Stella Maris concept brings the world’s most talented up-and-coming young singers together from the best opera houses in the world competing in a vocal competition on board.Stella Maris will occur during a 15-day itinerary around Great Britain, departing from Hamburg/Germany on July 5th and ending in Hamburg/Germany on July 20, 2011.

In September 2011 the EUROPA will once again be offering their very popular Ocean Sun Festival, the most prestigious classical music festival at sea. The 13-day music festival departs Barcelona/Spain on September 13th, with stops at the Balearic Islands, Sicily, Malta, Sardinia, Corsica, Elba, and ending in Monte Carlo/Monaco on September 26, 2011. The stars of the 2011 Ocean Sun Festival include award-winning Canadian tenor Michael Schade, Austrian soprano and San Francisco Opera performer Genia Kuehmeier, Argentinian mezzo-soprano Bernarda Fink, and German bass-baritone Thomas Quasthoff, generally regarded as one of the finest opera singers of his generation.
