Hapag-Lloyd Cruises is extending its sales structure in Belgium and the Netherlands. The new position of a Regional Sales Manager Belgium & Netherlands will be held by Ms. Carmen Langelage, who is based in Osnabrueck/ Germany, in proximity to the Dutch Border. The sales team in the company’s head office in Hamburg has been reinforced by the appointment of Julia Schwieger as Sales Support International Markets.
“More and more people are drawn to the allure of our luxury and expedition cruises. Yet, only few passionate cruisers in Belgium and the Netherlands know that our bilingual cruises operated in English and German are already available through select sales partners in their countries.” says Sebastian Ahrens, Managing Director of Hapag-Lloyd Cruises. “It is our principal aim to strengthen the support for our established sales partners and to build up new and fruitful partnerships with travel agents in this market”, Ahrens continues to explain the creation of the new position.
Ms. Langelage is the new contact person for all travel agencies and tour operators in Belgium and the Netherlands. Besides catering to the needs of the existing sales partners in these countries, her focus will be on establishing new contacts on site.
The sales expert looks back on many years of experience in the field of tourism and cruises, having been Head of the Touristic department of a Lufthansa Travel agency as well as Cruise Sales Representative on board of MS EUROPA, among other jobs. She had also settled in the Netherlands between 2006 and 2009, having worked for a Dutch event-planning agency in one of her most recent positions as Operations Manager.
In its portfolio, Hapag-Lloyd Cruises, the German provider of premium, luxury and expedition cruises, offers four ships, each with its own distinctive character: MS EUROPA, the company’s flagship, is the only cruise ship which received the prestigious 5-star-plus award by the Berlitz Cruise Guide since its commissioning in 1999. MS HANSEATIC and MS BREMEN offer expedition cruises off the beaten path to polar regions, the Amazon, Kamchatka or South Sea Paradises. The COLUMBUS with its casual atmosphere is ideal for first-time-cruisers and is the only ocean-going cruise ship that is able to navigate the locks of the Great Lakes in the USA. Over the past years, Hapag-Lloyd Cruises has significantly enhanced its selection of bilingual voyages (German/English). The service on the bilingual cruises includes travel documents in English as well as English-language on-board documents such as menus and programmes of the day. Beyond this, all announcements and safety drills on board are in both languages. Shore excursions with an English-speaking guide are offered for individual passengers or groups. Furthermore, the entire crew is fluent in German and English.
