Travelling aboard a ship which is departing for its first voyage ever is a very special experience. The EUROPA 2 gradually picks up speed, and at the start of the maiden voyage, you will cruise through the Port of Hamburg with her. The venerable Hanseatic city on the banks of the River Elbe with the old kontor buildings, the historic warehouse district, the modern HafenCity and the numerous cultural attractions provides the impressive backdrop for the beginning of your cruise. Ashore, the lights of aged captain’s houses bid you farewell as you gently and elegantly glide down the River Elbe towards the North Sea on board the EUROPA 2. Now, a day characterised by unadulterated relaxation at sea lies ahead of you. Time to really get to know the untouched ship before the EUROPA 2 reaches buoyant Amsterdam.

If you like, you can join a trip with a typical canal boat* here, which allows you to conveniently explore the Dutch metropolis on the meandering waterways. A visit to the Van Gogh Museum* must be considered the ultimate highlight - no other exhibition hall accommodates as many masterpieces by the famous Dutch painter.

Because the following morning, you will be awaited by Normandy’s Honfleur – picturesquely situated at the mouth of the River Seine, the town is ideal for discovering the typical Norman charm on a walk* through its many small lanes, or as a starting point for tasting a calvados at a venerable distillery*.

Another day at sea takes you through the Gulf of Biscay to scenic La Rochelle – visits to the idyllic artists’ island Ile de Ré* or the oyster bay Marennes* enable you to thoroughly enjoy this region with all senses.

Over the days of Pentecost, you will get to know the world-famous wine city Bordeaux. Explore southwest France and its unique attitude towards life. Visit the mediaeval wine village Saint-Émilion*and join a drive to a typical vineyard* - or marvel at Europe’s tallest sand dunes during a boat trip to the Bay of Arcachon. In the little village Le Canon*, you can taste the oysters which are farmed here if you wish.

With Leixoes, you have reached the country of Fado. High-quality port wine is also sent to destinations all over the world from here. In Porto*, Portugal’s second largest city, you can taste quite a few exquisite samples at the wineries on the banks of the Douro.

Attractive combination bonus
If you combine consecutive cruises concerning the maiden voyage and the itineraries in the Western Mediterranean, Eastern Mediterranean and Black Sea (cruises EUX1300 to EUX1323), you receive a combination bonus of EUR 400 per combined subsequent cruise.

Concerning itineraries in the region of the Arabian Peninsula and in Asia (EUX1323 to EUX1409), you receive a combination bonus of EUR 900 per combined subsequent cruise.

If you book a combination of several cruises in a guaranteed Veranda/Ocean Suite, it will be necessary to change suites after each individual cruise.
