Benoa/Bali/Indonesia
The island of the gods is sure to make you feel as if you are in heaven. Komodo/Indonesia
They can be seen dozing in the jungle or sunbathing along the coast – the “dragon island” turns out to be a small Garden of Eden, which is home to around 2,000 lizards and monitor lizards. Walk around the island with experienced rangers*. With a little luck, you might see the primeval animals in their natural habitat.

Set out in the Zodiacs to a little paradise in the emerald-green ocean: picturesque Pink Beach with its pink sand will enchant romantics and dreamers – and is a fascinating place for snorkellers as well.

Thursday Island/Torres Strait/Australia
Many Torres Strait Islanders, an indigenous group with Melanesian roots, live on the islands of the Torres Strait. Their administrative centre is the relatively pristine Thursday Island. Discover the island way of life here, visit the Green Hill Fort and Museum or wander around the little shops on Douglas Street.

Port Moresby/Papua New Guinea
The capital of the world’s third largest island state is a modern city with streets lined with palm trees and bougainvillea. On a city tour*, discover sights such as the government district, the National Museum and the Port Moresby Nature Park. You will see an amazing contrast on a flight* into the Goroka highlands: dark-green gorges alternate with forested mountainsides, and tiny villages lie hidden in the lowlands. The native Asora “mudmen” will put on a show to demonstrate how they forced their enemies to retreat with wild dances and war masks.

Cairns/Australia
With tropical rainforests and golden beaches, the red continent shows its other side on the east coast. Use your time in Cairns to see more of Australia’s green side. Soar over the canopy of the tropical rainforest to Kuranda in one of the world’s longest cable cars*. You can also enjoy the unique panorama from the historic Kuranda Scenic Railway*. A visit to the Wooroonooran National Park* will take you into a magical world: hidden bathing spots, exotic flowers and bubbling waterfalls are an idyllic place to while away some time. The 74 tiny Whitsunday Islands are the perfect place to relax. Sunbathe on the white beaches or rent an electric golf cart to explore the island at your leisure. An aerial tour* over the Great Barrier Reef promises some unique views: see the bright colours of the world’s largest coral reef from a bird’s-eye perspective.

Middle Percy/Percy Isles/Australia
The largest island in the Percy Isles National Park is not on the usual tourist routes. The Zodiacs or tender boats will take you to the island, where you can relax and unwind or walk around the island at your leisure.

Brisbane/Australia
Explore this friendly city on a kayak trip* along the Brisbane River, which runs through the city centre’s grid system layout. Or, following on from a city tour*, get up-close to Australia’s native animals, such as koalas, wombats and kangaroos, in the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary*. Several national parks on Mount Tamborine* are great places for a walk through nature: follow the thundering of the waterfalls or cross through the tree tops of the subtropical rainforest on the Skywalk.
