Whether you want to wander around the art galleries, stroll along the harbour or devote your attention to the wooden Sainte Catherine’s church* – Honfleur is picturesque everywhere you look. The nearby seaside resort of Deauville* is a meeting point for artists and the rich and famous. You, too, can encounter the savoir-vivre of Normandy and try some exquisite Calvados in a traditional distillery in the rural Pays d’Auge* region.

    Monday, 29.08.2016

    St. Peter Port/Guernsey/Channel Islands/Great Britain 7.00 – 0.00 hrs

    St. Peter Port/Guernsey/Channel Islands/Great Britain

Probably the prettiest town in the Channel Islands, St. Peter Port will greet you with a backdrop of gardens and terraces ascending the slopes like steps. The natural beauty of the island will be revealed on a hike* with idyllic views over the cliffs. If you prefer to discover the coastline at a faster pace, a trip in an RIB* promises an adventurous experience.

    Tuesday, 30.08.2016

    St. Malo/France, 8.00 – 18.00 hrs

    St. Malo/France

The Breton city of St. Malo looks back over a thousand years of history and, with its romantic cafes and antique shops, it is a paradise for collectors and lovers of local specialities. Discover the historic old town on a stroll at your leisure. In the middle of the sea and yet accessible by foot is the impressive monastery island of Mont Saint Michel*. It used to be accessible to pilgrims only at low tide, but nowadays a dam has been constructed leading to this “wonder of the western world”, which is one of the best examples of Franco-Norman architecture.

    Wednesday, 31.08.2016

    Brest, 8.00 – 18.00 hrs

    Brest/France

Be it a stroll along the lively quay to the maritime exhibition in the Chateau de Brest or a look underwater at Oceanopolis – this port city is a pure delight. Just outside the city, you can find evidence of its Breton past: the calvaries* are religious monuments representing the Passion of Christ. Witness their special majesty for yourself in Saint-Thegonnec and Guimiliau*.

    Thursday, 01.09.2016

    Le Palais/Belle-Ile, 8.00 – 18.00 hrs

    Le Palais/Belle-Ile/ France

“I am in a wonderfully wild region, with terrifying rocks and a sea of unbelievable colours.” With these words, Monet perfectly captured the north of the island. The more gentle side can be explored on a panoramic trip* along the island’s east coast. Here the countryside is lush and picturesque – such as in the charming fishing village of Sauzon*.

    Friday, 02.09.2016

    Bordeaux, arrival 9.30 hrs

    Bordeaux/France

For two days, the EUROPA will stay in France’s diverse university city, which is a real treat for the senses with its beautiful city centre to feast your eyes on and exquisite wines for your palate. Walk through the old town*, which was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2007 and, with its collection of historic buildings, has served as the backdrop for numerous film and TV productions. Wine lovers and gourmets will be drawn to the nearby Medoc wine-growing region* to discover for themselves the exceptional quality of the wines on a wine tasting. Go on a boat trip* to the idyllic bay of Arcachon, where the fresh sea air will whet your appetite for freshly caught oysters.

    St.-Jean-de-Luz, 13.00 – 19.00 hrs

    St.-Jean-de-Luz/France

Inland from the wild Atlantic coastline, a panoramic trip* will reveal the green hills of the Basque country, which will enchant you with its culinary delicacies. San Sebastian* is an important centre of Basque cuisine and is also famous for its film festival, which attracts international talent to the coast every year.

    Monday, 05.09.2016

    Aviles/Spain, 8.00 – 18.00 hrs

    Aviles/Spain

Traditional Spanish wooden balconies, baroque palaces and the newly opened Niemeyer Centre: Aviles has sights that date from every age. The region’s capital is Oviedo*. The massive San Salvador cathedral with its Holy Chamber looms over the city: the Camara Santa has Spain’s most historically valuable collection of gold artefacts from the early Middle Ages.

    Tuesday, 06.09.2016

    La Coruna, 8.00 – 23.00 hrs

    La Coruna/Spain

Discover the charm of this Galician beauty on a stroll around the historic port. The “glass city” owes its nickname to the Miradores, glazed balconies reflecting the sunlight. This journey will delight you with the following program

Golf – putting around western Europe

Mon 29 Aug St. Peter Port, Guernsey, Channel Islands, Great Britain – La Grande Mare Golf Club (Additional course 1)
The 18-hole course on the island’s west coast started out in 1994 as a 14-hole course. Some of the greens originally served as double greens, until the course was extended to 18 holes in 2001. Still today, your game will take you past some ancient gnarled olive trees.

Tue 30 Aug St. Malo, France – Saint Malo Golf Club
One of the most attractive courses in Brittany, with fairways blending in beautifully with the natural surroundings. Players can expect to see natural water courses, solid granite and centuries-old trees. You will be playing on long, undulating fairways with some fast greens.

Thu 1 Sep Le Palais – Golf Club Belle Isle en Mer
How can you play golf on a course like this? The 14-hole gem right on the French Atlantic coast will distract your attention time and again from your game with its breathtaking views. Five of the fairways set 10 m above the Atlantic are right on the cliffs.

Fri 2 Sep Bordeaux – Golf du Medoc
In the heart of the famous wine-growing region of Medoc lies this 36-hole course, which has already hosted numerous international golf competitions. Surrounded by vineyards, this course promises sheer elation. With the Parcours des Chateaux, this club is home to a very interesting links course with large greens and long par 4 holes which are just waiting to be overcome.

Sat 3 Sep Bordeaux – Golf de Bordeaux Pessac (Additional course 2)
Although it is inland, this golf course with its 27 fairways has plenty of water features. Almost all the fairways have water features on the side or in front at some point between the tee and the green. As a result, good course management and lots of straight shots are required.

Sun 5 Sep Aviles, Spain – Real Club de Golf La Barganiza
The journey is the destination: this is more true on this particular golfing adventure than on almost any other. Situated inland, players can expect a worthwhile round of golf in which the topographical features are incorporated in a unique way.

Tue 6 Sep La Coruna – Club de Golf La Coruna
Laid out in a parkland of mature trees, the course is a real delight. The very first tee is especially challenging: the 130 m long par 3 hole rises from the tee to a 30 m high plateau. This is a very pleasant course to play and boasts several water hazards.
