Rich myths and the treasures of nature 
Your African explorations begin in the state with the smallest surface area in this huge continent. At the outlet of the Gambia River into the Atlantic lies the capital Banjul. Follow its legends on the excursion Impressions of Banjul and the Surrounding Region* when you visit i.a. the Crocodile Pool in Bacau. The water is said to promise plentiful offspring. You will be familiarised with the fertile natural surroundings during a Walk and Boat Trip in the Makasutu Natural Park* with primeval mangrove swamps, savannas and dense forests, a habitat for numerous species of birds.

Ghana owes its significance to great gold deposits. You will experience the country’s lush primeval forest when setting out from Takoradi on a spectacular tour in the Kakum National Park*. Your path will lead over hanging bridges, partly over 40 m high, through the treetops of the African rainforest. Alternatively you can explore the jungle on a hike at ground level. Learn about the background of the history of slavery quite authentically on the excursion Cape Coast with a Visit to Elmina Castle*, the foundation stone of which was laid by the Portuguese in 1482 when they were searching for the sea passage to India. Or ride in rustic, wooden boats to the stilt village Nzulezo on a  Canoe Adventure in Benyin*, and gain insights into life on and with the water.
