    Relaxation at sea

    Wednesday, 15.08.2018

    Scarborough/Tobago, from 15.00 to 20.00 hrs
Port of Spain/Trinidad, from 7.00 to 19.30 hrs

Trinidad and Tobago are entirely different. Calypso was invented here, as was carnival according to the islanders. Trinidad was given its name by Christopher Columbus – he named the island after its trio of spectacular mountain peaks. The mountains are covered by virtually untouched rainforests. A scenic journey to Maracas Bay and a stop at the beach* will give you an overview of Trinidad. In contrast to the previous excursion, the focus of the boat trip through the Caroni Bird Sanctuary* will be on the fauna. Here you can gain fascinating insights into the diverse bird population of the island.

Tobago is much smaller, extremely relaxed and lined with idyllic beaches, bays and cliffs. See the diversity with lush vegetation and exotic animals on a walk through the rainforest*. Scarborough and its surrounding area* provide exciting glimpses of what life was like in the 18th century and boast unrivalled views of the Caribbean coasts under a blue sky.

    Monday, 11.05.2015

    Isla Margarita/Venezuela , from 8.30 to 20.00 hrs

The Caribbean island of Isla Margarita is part of the Lesser Antilles and is referred to affectionately by its inhabitants as “Isla Bonita”. Isla Margarita is known for its enchanting, idyllic beaches and fascinating history: Christopher Columbus discovered the island in August 1498 and named it after its abundance of pearls (margarita means “pearl”). Legend has it that the pearl fishers bestowed great gifts upon him. Discover majestic table mountains or even the world’s highest waterfall, Angel Falls, on a flight to Canaima National Park*. Those who like to explore the island in a more active way will be in their element on a kayak tour through the mangroves*.

    Wednesday, 15.08.2018

Islas Los Roques (subject to official approval)

The element of water also shapes Islas Los Roques, a national park made up of little islands and coral reefs in a turquoise sea. This is home to around 90 species of seabird, some of which are certain to make an appearance during an individual shore excursion.

    Wednesday, 15.08.2018

    Bonaire/Netherlands Antilles , from 8.00 to 18.00 hrs

Welcome to a vividly coloured, beautiful island. Bonaire is certainly one of the most beautiful ABC islands – Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao – in the Netherlands Antilles. Here you will encounter parrots, hummingbirds, iguanas and, with a little luck – if you visit salt-water Lake Gotomeer in the north – some pink flamingos. The island also has a diverse underwater population. The protected ring-shaped reef around the entire island allows you to dive or snorkel and admire unforgettable coral landscapes. The small capital Kralendijk also offers a colourful welcome with buildings painted in pink, orange and pastel shades. Stroll along the picturesque boulevard with its spectacular view of the ocean and marvel at the many beautiful fishing boats in the town’s harbour. The tour Bon Bini – Welcome to the island of Bonaire* presents scenic and historical highlights. Explore the underwater world on a trip in a glass-bottom boat* and discover aquatic life and reefs.

    Cartagena/Colombia, from 7.00 hrs to 17.00 hrs

Its sheltered location on the coast makes Cartagena one of the most beautiful colonial cities in Latin America. The impressive San Felipe de Barajas fortress reveals how the city once defended itself against pirates. At the palace, “enemies” of the Catholic faith were confronted by the court of the Inquisition. Discover a moving and historic Cartagena*.

    Wednesday, 15.08.2018

    San Blas/Panama

The Kuna people and their elaborately adorned molas are the focus of a visit to the Panamanian archipelago San Blas in the Caribbean Sea.

    Wednesday, 15.08.2018

    Colon/Panama, from 6.00 to 20.00 hrs

In Panama, the magic of a famed masterpiece pervades. The city of Colon on the Atlantic side has the construction of the Panama Canal to thank for its size; today, it is the world’s second-largest free trade zone after Hong Kong. But the city was not just important for the construction of the Canal – it is also the starting point for fascinating nature trips into the hinterland. Discover the impressive locks of the Panama Canal* or gain insight into a foreign culture on a visit to the Embera Indians*.
