An extraordinary voyage of discovery awaits you way down under as you cruise from New Zealand’s North Island to the southernmost tip of Australia, Tasmania, and to the Australian continent itself. This cruise is a unique opportunity to not only explore the golfing options in the Tasman Sea, but also to get a first impression of the South Seas atmosphere that is sure to leave you wanting more.
Thu 02.03.2023 Napier, New Zealand – Cape Kidnappers Golf Club
This course is particularly challenging as excellent concentration abilities will be needed during the round. The 18 holes are laid out on a plateau right on the east coast of the North Island, with the natural landscape guiding the design. This means that every ball position has at least one new spectacular view to offer, so it is difficult to focus all of your attention on the game itself. Tip: As well as a few extra balls, make sure you take your camera in your golf bag.
Fri 03.03.2023 Wellington, New Zealand – Royal Wellington Golf Club
Situated in the uplands of the “Windy City”, this city course was opened in 1895 and was most recently redesigned as a parkland course in 2013. Its location means that the 18-hole golf adventure is also often affected by the wind. The extremely wide, often rather strongly modulated fairways won’t necessarily work in your favour. The round is traditionally opened by a starter who keeps an eye on the players’ footwear. Only white golf socks and shoes with soft spikes are permitted. However, white knee socks are preferred for guests.
Sat 11.03.2023 Hobart (Tasmania), Australia – Tasmania Golf Club
Above Barilla Bay are 18 exciting fairways, all of which challenge the dedicated golfer. Even though the layout primarily specifies straight fairways, the modulations on the fairways in combination with the strategically placed bunkers are a challenge – not to mention the visual distractions that arise during the round. The pride of the club is the par 5 of the third hole, a dog-leg to the left with 480 m (1,575 ft), which connoisseurs often compare to the 18th hole of Pebble Beach.
Tue 14.03.2023 Melbourne, Australia – Woodlands Golf Club
The British national sport has been played here since 1913. See for yourself as you play a round through the lush ancient trees that accompany the playing areas of the fairways, which are sometimes very narrow. Here, the direction of the ball is far more important than the length of the shot. Ignore this and you won’t be happy when you look at your score card!
Fri 17.03.2023 Sydney, Australia – Pennant Hills Golf Club
Today you play one of the oldest and most beautiful private parkland golf courses in the Sydney region. Already in 1923 this "jewel" was initiated on the today's area; accordingly the fairways are clearly flanked by an old ingrown tree existence. Hereby partly clear fairways are formed. Especially an intensive bunkering protects the greens of the par 3 holes. Here, despite the manageable distances, length plays a role. Experience an unforgettable golf day.
