    The highlights of this cruise

Leave everyday life behind in HAMBURG and use your first day at sea to get to know life on board. You will reach ANTWERP in the early morning. With guild houses, art nouveau buildings and numerous monuments, the pretty old town invites you to take a carriage ride* or board an electric tuk-tuk*. Art lovers can take a detour to the Cathedral of Our Lady, which features four works by Peter Paul Rubens under its arches. Still looking for a unique souvenir? The Diamond Quarter is sure to have what you need! Your next destination is protected by historic fortified walls. ST MALO invites you to stroll its winding streets. If you require culinary refreshment, you’ll find plenty of little bistros along the way. Refreshed and refuelled, ascend the city walls to enjoy rooftop views and watch the tide. Alternatively, take an excursion to the monastic island of Mont-Saint-Michel*. Even from afar, this popular place of pilgrimage is an imposing sight. At high tide, the island is surrounded by the waves of the Atlantic. Around 1,000 years ago, Portugal was born in PORTO. Since then, many seafarers have dropped anchor here, bringing prosperity and international renown. A tuk-tuk ride* is a wonderful way to explore the hilly old town in comfort. Finally, head to the port cellars on the south shore of the Douro. Portugal’s history as a great seafaring nation has also shaped LISBON, be it the Castelo de Sao Jorge in the heart of the city or the Torre de Belem in the west of Lisbon. Visit any of the numerous miradouros, or viewpoints, and you will be rewarded with far-off views of the city’s most beautiful sights. Spend the evening in the traditional bars of Bairro Alto, listening to fado music, and let its melancholy melodies follow you through the night.

CADIZ is worth a visit simply for its island location: the city can only be accessed from the mainland via bridges. The sea is a constant presence here. The waves crash on the beach, colourful fishing boats bob on the water and the aroma of freshly caught seafood specialities draws customers into the tapas bars. Seville* is the cradle of flamenco. Take a day trip to the vibrant capital of Andalusia. MALAGA is another Andalusian beauty. Picasso’s home town was hotly contested in the 11th century during Moorish rule. With splendid rooms and pretty gardens, the Alcazaba provides a good sense of the city’s early wealth. A UNESCO World Heritage Site lures you into the hinterland of the Sierra Nevada: the Moorish Alhambra* in Granada appears to have been taken straight out of the Arabian Nights stories. VALENCIA is also brimming with history. Whether the Gothic silk exchange or the Renaissance frescos in the cathedral, the romantic streets present you with great history wherever you go. The City of Arts and Sciences has taken the city into the future. The futuristic building complex in a dried-up river bed includes L’Oceanografic, Europe’s largest aquarium. After a day in TARRAGONA, enjoy the Spanish sun for the final time on the beaches of IBIZA. In autumn, an idyllic calm descends over the popular holiday island. Ideal conditions for strolling through the town. Enjoy relaxing hours before you head for home the next morning in PALMA DE MALLORCA.

    * The shore activities are not included in the cruise price and are in the planning stage. Subject to change.

    Golf cruise

Mon 04.10.2021 St Malo - Saint Malo Golf Club
This course is one of the most attractive in Brittany. Its fairways are integrated into the pristine landscape with exceptional harmony. Your game will take you past natural bodies of water, huge granite walls and rows of centuries-old trees. The modulated fairways with occasional slopes almost always end on fast greens.

Thu 07.10.2021 Lisbon – Oitavos Dunes
On these 18 fairways, you will be accompanied by a variety of pine trees and an untouched desert landscape. The land on which the golf course was built, and the club itself, are privately owned by the fourth generation of the Champalimaud family. What is remarkable is that the family has always paid close attention to preserving natural resources. This makes the course even more fascinating.

Sun 10.10.2021 Malaga – Mijas Golf International – Los Olivos Course
Robert Trent Jones Sr. has transformed an old olive plantation into a splendid golf course. The rather narrow fairways almost always end on elevated, large plateau greens. In other words, this course requires a very precise game. Strategy and tactics will prove crucial.

Tue 12.10.2021 Valencia – Campo El Saler Golf Club
A total of 18 holes, sometimes in direct contact with the coast of the Gulf of Valencia, present inviting, wide fairways. The course’s striking design blends elegantly with the coastal landscape and is completed by the impressive clubhouse. The course promises a relaxing game for players of all handicaps.

Wed 13.10.2021 Tarragona – Infinitum Golf – additional course
This golfing paradise is made up of 45 holes; two 18-hole courses and a nine-hole course. The Hills and Lake Courses both have 18 holes, and their names are very fitting. The Hills Course features highly modulated fairways, while the Lake Course includes a number of water hazards.

    Ralf Pütter

On this Golf trip on board: Ralf Pütter

    PGA-Golfprofessional

The PGA professional has been running his own golf school in Bochum, Germany, since 2004. He completed the training to become an A-rated trainer of the DGV (German golf association) in 2005, then also added the title of PGA Health Professional and in 2017 became one of the first to gain the academic degree of Master of Science Research and Instruction in Golf from the German Sport University Cologne. He combines his expertise with a calm and balanced approach to training and the game – and has been ensuring success with Golf & Cruise ashore and at sea for several years.

This cruise takes you around the Iberian Peninsula with a wide range of golfing experiences. With the right professional support, the sometimes tricky fairways on one or two of the courses shouldn’t be a problem. Golfing fun and thrilling experiences are guaranteed.
