Your cruise begins where famous artists found their inspiration: around the Vieux Bassin in the seaside town of HONFLEUR in Normandy, you can dream of all the experiences that await you. The narrow houses and boats bobbing in the old harbour inspired painters such as Monet and Cézanne – and still today provide a delightful backdrop for your holiday photos. A great poet was drawn to the CHANNEL ISLANDS: “Fragments of France which fell into the sea and were gathered up by England” is how the French writer Victor Hugo described the islands. With its mighty fortress and wild natural world, JERSEY also fulfils all expectations. In St. Peter Port on GUERNSEY, Hugo’s former home is open to visitors: as well as an insight into the past, the property also offers magnificent views over the bay. The islands have the Gulf Stream to thank for their mild climate – and in turn for their beautiful gardens. Some of the most picturesque are La Seigneurie Gardens* on SARK. Southern England is also blessed with warm weather and the area around FALMOUTH is truly cinematic: spectacular cliffs and golden sandy beaches, idyllic fishing villages and splendid manor houses – Cornwall is enchanting with natural beauties as far as the eye can see. At Land’s End*, you will have reached England’s most westerly point. On TRESCO, one of the Scilly Isles, the rich scenic diversity of the Cornish coastline once again displays its full glory. With botanical treasures from all over the world, Abbey Gardens are like a colourful Garden of Eden. Set out on a short journey through England’s history from AVONMOUTH. Historic Bath* was already popular in Roman times with its thermal baths. Today, the entire city centre including the famous Royal Crescent is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The EUROPA will sail up the Thames as far as GREENWICH and stay for two days in Britain’s capital. Whether you want to go shopping on Bond Street or visit Buckingham Palace* – LONDON is fascinating with plenty of different ways to explore this multifaceted city. A walk through the City of Westminster will take you to see the Houses of Parliament, as well as Hyde Park and multicultural Soho. Built to celebrate the millennium, the London Eye* is also well worth a visit: in good weather, Europe’s tallest Ferris wheel offers views as far as Windsor Castle. Are you a lover of modern art? If so, a detour to the Tate Modern* will be just for you – housed in a former power station, it is also remarkable for its architecture. After a relaxed day at sea, we will say a friendly goodbye in HAMBURG.

Golf cruise

This haven for golfers has 54 holes and was built specifically to host the 2010 Ryder Cup, with a course length of 6,852 m (7,493 yd). Today you can experience how the true greats of this sport must have felt on this round.

The club is proud of its 125-year history. It is particularly worth mentioning that this course has always occupied the same piece of land. And so you will be playing on historic turf. The original links course runs directly alongside the Atlantic.

In rolling British countryside, an interesting golfing challenge awaits you. The 18 fairways on the parkland course lead over some very undulating terrain. This course therefore requires particular attention to space management because your position may prove crucial to the result on your score card.

This beautiful English parkland course was designed by Tom Dunn back in 1892. Situated only 15 km (9.6 mi.) from the City of London, the course is also an oasis of peace. The par 70 course offers particularly fast greens and some tricky fairways. A “royal” golfing experience in the classic, traditional English style!
