Visit the Pearl Museum and find out more about the cultivation of these jewels.

Two volcanoes shape this tiny subtropical island with its black beaches and green slopes, which you can explore on a sporty hike: conquer the 854 m high Mount Hachijo-Fuji* or perhaps you would prefer to take it easy in the botanical gardens*, where you can see the flowering plants and enjoy the fantastic views of the bizarre lava formations on the Nambara plateau*.

Nawiliwili/Kauai, arrival 8.00 hrs
Towards evening, the EUROPA will reach the Hawaiian archipelago and you will be able to experience the natural diversity of the islands with the first warm rays of morning sun: enjoy a swim in the waves at nearby Kalapaki Beach, or set off for the north of the island, where the green “Garden Island” really lives up to its name. On the western side, you see colourful natural splendour up-close on either an overland journey or in a helicopter*: Discover the Waimea Canyon*, which is up to 1,000 m deep in places.
Nawiliwili, departure 17.00 hrs
Kailua/Hawaii, 8.30 – 0.00 hrs
Welcome to the home of the goddess of fire, Pele. The Big Island is the largest of the 137 islands in the Hawaiian archipelago – and its volcano Kilauea is one of the most active on earth. Its current eruption has lasted since 1983 and you can see the unique sight of columns of steam rising up and the lava landscapes of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park on an aerial tour*. A scenic journey to Hawi and Kapa’au* offers impressive views of the picturesque coastline. On the way, you can see the statue of Kamehameha I, who was the first king to reign over all the inhabited islands in 1795 and whose reign brought a much-longed-for period of peace.
Lahaina/Maui, 8.00 – 22.00 hrs
From the legendary surfers’ paradise, your route will take you up a winding road to a height of 3,000 m and the bizarre lunar landscape of the Haleakala Crater*. Continue on through the contrasting landscape of the narrow Iao Valley*, which is green, fertile and full of life. Admire the rushing waterfalls, secluded beaches and deep gorges from a bird’s-eye perspective on a helicopter flight* over Maui and Molokai.
Honolulu/Oahu, arrival 6.00 hrs
Overnight stay on board
Explore the lively centre of the US state until late in the evening. Enjoy the view of Honolulu from the extinct Diamond Head volcano* and watch the surfers at the famous Waikiki Beach*. The elegant Kahala Estate* area, where luxury villas and exclusive hotels line the beach, is also worth a detour. A helicopter flight* over Oahu will provide exceptional views of this beautiful island. Admire the lush green volcanic slopes, the high drop of the Sacred Falls and the vast pineapple plantations, which thrive in the red soil. After one last night on board, begin your journey home or visit the highlights of San Francisco, Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon on our post-cruise programme*.
