Yachts line in the marina, the casino is enticing at any time of day and the Prince’s Palace of the Grimaldi dynasty looms high up on the cliffs above the city. A helicopter flight* over the Cote d’Azur promises some breathtaking views. Or perhaps you would prefer to experience the winding coast road of the Corniche “for yourself” in a Ferrari*?

Fri, 23.09.2016

Portofino/Italy, 8.00 – 17.00 hrs

This picturesque and tiny port with its colourful fishermen’s houses is actually a favourite meeting point for the jet set. Visit the San Giorgio church with its splendid panoramic views over the bay. Our gourmet tip – lunch at the Hotel Splendido*. Take a boat trip* to visit Santa Margarita and Rapallo, two elegant beauties on the Italian Riviera.

Portoferraio/Elba, 8.00 – 18.00 hrs

Romantic bays and crystal-clear waters on the coast, Mediterranean maquis and vineyards in the interior – the best way of exploring all the wonderful things the island has to offer is on a hike*. More variety, which you can taste this time: enjoy a wine tasting at the famous La Chiusa* vineyard.

Sun, 25.09.2016

Civitavecchia (Rome), 7.00 – 19.00 hrs

Civitavecchia (Rome)/Italy

Go shopping in the Via Condotti, enjoy a cappuccino on the Piazza Navona or take a detour to see the Trevi Fountain: explore Rome* exactly as you wish on a city tour. As you visit the Colosseum or St Peter’s Basilica, you can expect to get some unforgettable insights into the city’s history, which dates back more than a thousand years. Modern art is what you can expect to find in the Tarot Garden*. Mirrored mosaics, colourful tiles and original sculptures make this “magical garden” designed by Niki de Saint Phalle a colourful world of discovery.

Mon, 26.09.2016

Capri, 8.00 – 0.00 hrs

Bougainvillea flowering on the white chalk cliffs against the backdrop of the endless blue of the ocean – the changing light bathes Capri in different colours throughout the day and gives it a special kind of magic, which has already inspired many artists and writers.

Tue, 27.09.2016

Lipari/Lipari Islands, 12.00 – 19.00 hrs

Lipari/Lipari Islands/Italy

Discover the largest island in the Aeolian archipelago on a panoramic trip* through sleepy villages and enjoy a view over the islands from the “Quattrocchi” lookout point. Or set out on a boat trip* to the legendary Blue Grotto.

Wed, 28.09.2016

Syracuse/Sicily, 8.00 – 18.00 hrs

The legacy of ancient times and baroque architecture are what characterise the old town on the Ortigia peninsula, which was celebrated by Cicero as one of the most beautiful cities. Etna is also the stuff of legends. Take the cable car* up to the high plateau of Europe’s mightiest volcano. Sicilian cuisine* is an art in itself: a visit to the market will whet your appetite, before you get the chance to see and taste what’s cooking in a typical country house.

Thu, 29.09.2016

Palermo/Sicily, 13.00 – 19.00 hrs

The treasures of Palermo* lie right at your feet. As well as the Arab-Norman cathedral, the medieval Sant’Agostino church and Europe’s third largest opera house, the Teatro Massimo, you will also be captivated by the typically Italian charm. Go on a bicycle tour* through the lively city and the Parco della Favorita to Mondello*, which is reminiscent of the golden age at the turn of the century.

Sat, 01.10.2016

Ibiza/Balearic Islands/Spain, 8.00 – 0.00 hrs

Ibiza/Balearic Islands/Spain

Our ideas for visiting the island on your own include starting with a little shopping before wandering up to the fortified upper town. Behind the city walls, you can discover the Moorish legacy of the Dalt Vila, which will take you back in time with its medieval houses and cobbled streets. Away from the city, this pretty Balearic island still has some quiet spots. Explore the countryside, where pines and almond trees grow, the scent of oranges and lemons hangs in the air and white villages and romantic fincas lie hidden. Towards evening is the best time to head for San Antonio beach. Round off your day with a cocktail and enjoy the view of the outlying islands, behind which the sun slowly disappears.

Or explore the capital of the Balearics in a more futuristic way on a Segway tour*.
