The EUROPA cruises slowly up the Guadalquivir into the heart of Andalusia – discover Seville as you walk through the charming streets and beautiful alleys, browse for the perfect souvenir in the little shops or stop for some delicious tapas in one of the inviting bodegas. Everywhere you go, you can see the city’s impressive landmark, the Giralda. The clock tower of the world’s largest Gothic cathedral was initially built as a minaret. The former caliphate of Cordoba was a flourishing city in the Islamic world. In the prayer hall of the richly decorated Mezquita cathedral, more than 850 columns are a reminder of the city’s glory days. Jerez de la Frontera* is also home to some fine treasures. Admire the splendid Andalusian horses at the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art*.

The Alcazaba fortress* looms high over the coastal city and offers some amazing views. The Catholic cathedral, which you will also visit on your walking tour*, once offered the city’s population protection against pirate raids. The jeep safari* sets out for the natural paradise of Cabo de Gata and the wild flamingos.
Cartagena, 8.00 – 18.00 hrs
Discover one of the most important ports in Spain and sights such as the Roman amphitheatre* and the Casa de la Fortuna*. Murcia* lies in the valley of the Rio Segura. The well-preserved old town with its impressive cathedral and numerous museums stand as testament to the history of the city.
Valencia, 8.00 – 18.00 hrs
The harmonious balance between the traditional and the modern in Valencia will be revealed on a tour* of the City of Arts & Sciences around the old town, with its Gothic and Arabian monuments and the Mercado Central, which will enchant you with rich Azulejo ornaments and tempting treats at over 1,000 stalls. Salt lakes, dunes and broad reed belts are what characterise the Albufera Natural Park An idyllic boat trip* will whet your appetite for the national dish: today we invite you to sample paella in the place it was first invented by fishermen.
Barcelona, 8.00 – 19.00 hrs
Park Guell* and the Sagrada Familia* – not many artists have been able to make their mark on their home town like Antoni Gaudí. Stroll along the famous La Rambla boulevard or explore the enchanting Gothic district and pretty seafront promenade on a Segway*. The approach to the Montserrat monastery*, nestled on the steep slopes of the Catalan sandstone mountains, is also unforgettable.
Marseille/France, 8.00 – 0.00 hrs
The 2013 European Capital of Culture is dominated by the Notre-Dame de la Garde basilica, and from here there is a breathtaking panoramic view over France’s oldest city. Afterwards, how about a detour to the magnificent Boulevard de Longchamp? Paul Cézanne lived and worked in idyllic Aix-en-Provence* and you can visit his workshop where he produced many of his paintings.
Porquerolles/Iles d’Hyeres, 8.00 – 18.00 hrs
With its magnificent sandy beaches and green pine forests, this little-known gem in the south of France stole the heart of Madame Pompidou, who had the island protected. Enjoy the views from the castle over the open sea, the neighbouring islands and the inland Massif des Maures when you visit the island at your leisure.
Calvi/Corsica, 7.00 – 16.00 hrs
This ancient and lively town enjoys a picturesque location in the bay of the same name and is enchanting with its pretty old town and beautiful port. Stroll along the narrow streets and along the promenade. Discover a gem of garden art in the Parc de Saleccia* – enjoy the scents and gaze in wonder at the idyllic surroundings between olive trees, cypresses and oleanders.
St. Tropez, arrival 8.00 hrs
One of the favourite spots amongst the jet set features a large marina and legendary cafes such as the Senequier, which are a great place to stop for a drink. Soak up the atmosphere as you wander* through the old part of town from the Place de l’Hotel de Ville to the old fishing port. You will also enjoy the special charm of the French Riviera in Bormes les Mimosas*. This delightful village on the slopes of the Massif des Maures offers wonderful views of the coastline.
