Lion, buffalo, rhinoceros, elephant and leopard – merely the mention of the “Big Five” will make adventurers’ hearts leap for joy. On your expedition you will have several opportunities of watching Africa’s fascinating animals when you join exciting stalks through dense bush land and vast grass steppe. No one can never know what encounters nature has to offer. In fact, in the Kariega Game Reserve* near to Port Elizabeth more than 25 species of game and more than 200 types of birds live. Perhaps you will spot buffalos, giraffes or zebras at the waterholes while a pride of lions prowls well camouflaged through the undergrowth. The Addo Elephant Park* is totally devoted to the colossal pachyderms. Although the population was almost extinct when the park was founded in 1931, today more than 300 elephants live there.

When  Stalking in the Tala Game Reserve* you can explore the habitat of giraffes, rhinos and hippos. As an alternative you can experience breathtaking views during an Adventure Excursion over the Sani Pass* as far as the “Roof of South Africa“, with a pass height of almost 3,000 m, in the Drakensbergen on the border to Lesotho.

There will be a continuation of these exciting expedition moments in Richard’s Bay. Sense the soul of Africa during a two-day visit to the Phinda Game Reserve*, which is one of the most impressive nature reserves in the country and at the same time incorporates seven different ecological systems. In case you have still not seen all the members of the “Big Five”, there will be a further chance for you here. A  Visit to the Zulu Village of Kwabhekithunga* will deeply move you when you are introduced to the proud traditions of this tribe. You will set out on a search for the rare, almost extinct white and black rhinoceroses in the Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Game Reserve*, where, if you are lucky, you will also see lions and zebras. On the other hand crocodiles and hippos will impress you on a  Boat Trip across Lake St. Lucia* – the crowning glory of an abundance of intensive animal observations in South Africa.
