    Saturday, 21.04.2018

    Dutch Harbor/Unalaska Island, Unga Islan

On Unalaska, the main island of the Aleutian Islands, you may perhaps catch a glimpse of the impressive bald eagle for the first time and make a short trip into the history of Alaska in Dutch Harbour when you visit the oldest Russian Orthodox church in North America. You can also discover traces of human settlement in an abandoned fishing village on Unga Island. While you take a walk with the experts, you will experience how nature is gradually reclaiming this piece of Earth.

    Saturday, 21.04.2018

    Amalik Bay and Kukak Bay

    The wild beauty of Alaska
With the BREMEN, you will get really close to the wonders of Alaska – for example in Amalik Bay and the impressive Kukak Bay, where powerful brown bears hunt for food. With a bit of luck, you will be able to see these stately animals roaming freely in the wild from the Zodiac. To enable you to have intensive experiences of nature, the BREMEN will cruise time and again through the impressive world of fjords.

    Saturday, 21.04.2018

    Cruising off the Chenega Glacier

From the deck, you will see breathtaking panoramic views, for example in front of the Chenega Glacier, where fur seals and common seals are splashing around in the water. Weather permitting, you will approach the glacier as closely as possible in the Zodiac.

    Saturday, 21.04.2018

    Seward

The town of Seward marks the beginning of the historical track of the Alaska Railroad. From here you can go on a boat tour to Kenai Fjords National Park*. Enjoy the splendid view of the tidewater glaciers, and if you are lucky, you will encounter humpback whales, orcas, sea lions or sea otters. However, you can also join a kayak tour in Resurrection Bay*, where dolphins and bald eagles live along the rocky coastline.

    Saturday, 21.04.2018

Cruising off the Hubbard Glacier and Point Adolphus

An overwhelming world of ice awaits you in front of the still active Hubbard Glacier - the BREMEN is in her element here and safely tracks her way through potential ice floes in the direction of the edge of the glacier so that you can admire the bizarre ice formations from close quarters. You will also have a view of magnificent landscapes when you sail through the Inian Pass, at the end of which lies Port Adolphus. These popular summer quarters for families of humpback whales will provide you with unforgettable moments observing the gigantic marine mammals.

    Saturday, 21.04.2018

    Skagway

At Lynn Fjord in Skagway you can sense the pull of the gold rush, because it was here that thousands of gold diggers set forth in 1898 to search for their luck. You will find their numerous traces during the trip to the White Pass and Yukon Route Railway*, which will take you through the mountainous region of the Coast Mountains.

    Saturday, 21.04.2018

Alaskas Inside Passage (Wrangell, Ketchikan , cruising in the Misty Fjords)

    Spectacular Inside Passage
Behind Skagway the BREMEN enters into Alaska’s Inside Passage, a legendary route that fulfils the lifetime dream of many explorers. Amongst others, the passage features the Wrangell Narrows, the islands and narrow fjords of which seem to have been designed especially for the manoeuvrable BREMEN. Idyllically situated Wrangell is your starting point for memorable excursions. Look forward to the unique possibility of bear watching at Anan Creek*, or start out for the flight over the LeConte Glacier*. During a walk, you will get to know Ketchikan, the fourth largest town in Alaska and the self-appointed ”salmon capital of the world“. Use the opportunity to set out from here for bear watching in the Alaska Rainforest Sanctuary*, or discover the largest national forest in the USA during the nature experience Tongass National Park*. The flight over the Misty Fjords* which owe their name to the characteristic mist formations is also impressive. The fantastic natural park with its roaring waterfalls is the habitat of the bald eagle and will enchant you when you cruise through the fjords with the BREMEN.
