The BREMEN sets course for truly unknown territory - wild, vast Sibiria and the scenic region Primorsky Krai. More than 80 % of this region is forested and offers a wealth of secrets. With the BREMEN and her Zodiacs, you will also reach the very remote bays and embark on little hikes in a pristine environment. The nature reserve of the Rimskiy Islands presents itself with a green coastline – a fantastic setting for Zodiac rides on which you will discover a great number of seabirds, white-tailed eagles and, with a little luck, the largha seals typical of this region. Your visit to the capital of Primorsky Krai, Vladivostok, which foreigners were not allowed to visit until the end of the Soviet era, offers a stark contrast to these intense nature experiences. Here, at the final destination of the legendary Trans-Sibirian Railway, you will set out for exciting tours of discovery within the city and to the fascinating natural surroundings. Among other activities, you can visit the Ussuriyskiy nature reserve*, which is not only home to more than 1,000 plant species, but also a rich bird world. A landscape tour through the Sibirian taiga* also takes you to the habitat of Amur tigers. Back in Vladivostok, you can admire the sights on a city tour* or pay a visit to the Botanic Garden*.

Siberia (Petrov Island , Prosiolchnaya , Neprimentnaya , Olga , Ternei Bay , Samarga River, Kholmsk)

Siberia: unforgettable experiences in the wilds of nature
Where the Eurasian landmass meets the Pacific Ocean, nature reveals its wonderful glory. On the coasts, you will come across fine-sandy beaches, and in the interior of the country, the taiga seems endless. Here, the Sikhote Alin Mountains, the habitat of Asian black bears and rare bird species, rise to a height of up to 2,000 m. Depending on the local conditions, you will experience intense days with a multitude of Zodiac rides and landings – always offering the most spectacular impressions. When the BREMEN reaches Petrov Island, you will think that time has stood still here. Take in the sight of the dense taiga forest – and the mysterious yew tree avenue which presumably served religious purposes in the past. Accompanied by local guides, you can go on a hike through this mystic nature and find out more about the legends and myths of this place. Following the Zodiac landing on the beach of Prosiolochnaya, you have the opportunity to look out for white-tailed eagles, cormorants and gorals. In the bay of Neprimentnaya, you are likely to see sika deer.

The perhaps most beautiful bay of Primorsky Krai will be revealed to you as the BREMEN sets course for the Golf of Olga. In the little provincial town, encounters with Cossacks and Russian life off the tourist tracks await you. Subsequently, you will make an extraordinary stopover amidst nature in Udobnaya Bay - here, you can hike along winding jungle paths through the Sikhote Alin reserve to a large lake in the company of rangers who are familiar with the region. Setting out from Ternei Bay, you have the opportunity to visit the settlement of the same name, the approximately 4,000 inhabitants of which live on fishing to the present day. We will then flexibly land with the Zodiacs further north between Cape Maksimov and Cape Gilyak wherever the most beautiful experiences are possible. You will also set foot in the Zodiacs at the mouth of the Samarga River in order to explore the landscape upstream.

Important note on this expedition: The BREMEN is the first non-Russian ship to set out on this cruising adventure along the Siberian coast. It goes without saying that we have planned this trip with the greatest care and in close consultation with the Russian authorities. The authorities do however reserve the right to issue the necessary authorisations at the last moment or if necessary to withhold them, so changes to the cruise itinerary may be necessary. Depending on the local conditions, the captain will then decide on the best possible choice of alternatives.

* These arrangements are not included in the cruise price. The shore activities listed here are in the planning stage and are subject to changes.
